@izzbiz12 im new to drumming and im trying to figure out the correct hand posture, so is it correct for palms to face downward all the time? cuz i have seen people hitting ride cymbal while having their right palms facing the left side, and some ppl hitting ride with their palms facing down.
@shortshortdi There's really no right or wrong. For most, hitting the right side of the bell on the ride is just uncomfortable as all hell. I always strike the left side, palm somewhat down. Trick is to have your fingers do as much of the job as possible. The grip is far more important than how your hand is angled. Grip the stick at the balance point of the stick with your thumb and forefinger, and never close the gap between the side of your thumb and your hand. Loose but tight.
Great! Hello I'm from Argentina and I have de same Roland TD-8. I wanted to ask you which is te best choise to amplify it. In argentina V-Drums Amplifiers are not sold, and when I use my band's PA System it sound really BAD. Thanks!
Absolutely. I got a Roland set with 14" snare (I think) that looks like that set except I haven't bought the additional crashcymbal. It costs prolly about 2k euros
It might be cheap, like under 1k if you steal it. But yea, they do sell for 4k (keeping in mind im aussie so talking in AUD). The rrp on them was 10k +, but if you can get a full expanded td10 for $800 aud let me know where....
hehehe I aint getting a TD10 im getting a TD6 from some guy in usa.. there is a guy in mass that ive been talking to.. hes selling a TD6 for 650$ im gonna buy them from him and then save up for a MIDI cable and play online :D oh and you have a friend now by the way ill subscribe to your vids!
I agree with the comment about your timing. You have an excellent sense of rhythm. Hope you are in a band though, because the one thing I can tell you is that no amount of playing alone or along to demos and samples will adequately prepare you for the real world of gigs and other musicians. More power to you, but the most important thing is to get out there and play!
Hey question, I wanna get an Electronic drum set But I dont know what one is the best one and I dont want to be fooled and a crappy one I need some adivce on which one is the best one to get from Roland cause im saving up for one.. Thanks and Great job !!!
Basically, if your in the market for an e-kit do as much research as you can and read as many reviews on as you can find. The lower end roland and yamaha kits can be a bit useless but basically it comes down to how much you want to spend. Look for something with mesh heads if you can afford it, and look for features like dual / triple trigger cymbals and pads which allow rimshots, cross stick, brushes, rolls etc. I'd start by checking out yamaha, roland, and hart dynamics respective websites.
Well, I pretty much wanna spend like around a 1000$ for one cause I can probably get a good deal from one of my friends thats in the music industry cause he has a nice electronic drum set plus I might save 1100$ to get an extra base drum pedal for more kick.. But I think my friend can probably give me a good deal *wink wink* LOL... Oh well.. Nice playing and thanks for the comment back Stay Metal bro \m/ ^^ \m/
Hey fucktard! You dug your own grave but i'm happy to fill it in for you. If your seven year old nephew can play better than me i'm confused as to why i haven't heard of him? Because that would quite literally make him one of, if not the, best drummer in the world for his age. Theres very few parts of that video in which i am out of time. Maby learn how to count through triplets, displaced and polyrhythms and then you might be able to realise why your wrong. People like you should be culled.
Great playing dude, didn't hear anything wrong with your timing, sounded impeccable. Yeah its tough for a lot of people to feel the timing in fill-heavy improvisation. Its hard sometimes to tell where the "one" is in a particular groove, like the one at 1:35. I can see why it could be difficult to follow that one. However when you said you played polyrhythms I was looking forward to seeing it, didnt hear any in there. Anyways, great kit, great drummer, great vid.
just uploaded a video of me on my td10 improvising to the 7/8 funk jam. have a look when you get a chance. great playing. how do you input your own loops?
Hey man, thanks for the comment. Basically in that part the left foot is playing straight quarter notes on the hats. The snare part is pretty much just groupings of different rudiments, things like 5 stroke rolls. I played the kick, (which triggers that bass sound) syncopated over the hats when i was also accenting the snare. I have got my acoustic kit set up atm - so ill record some more stuff in the next few days and stick it up along with an extended version of that part. Thanks all!
Sounds good. Those breakdowns you were doing in the beginning sounded good, but I would go back into a beat to give some relief and get a groove back... just me though. Nice chops. I want one of those.
I didnt lose count once, its called playing over the bar, and things like paradiddle triplets are what makes the so-called "change in speed". Oh the displacements from inversions and stuff might also sound like i've "lost count" if you don't know anything about drums - which from that comment i assume you do...

can you tell me if your roland set was td-12 ?.
I want the tom sizes be like in this video :)
letterheads 4 years ago
No it's td-6, didn't know they made bigger sized toms aswell, kinda fancy
CakesNshit 4 years ago
yes I know :)...
I think they make the big tom sizes in 12".
And the smaller 8".
Anyways I am buyng td-9 cause its cheap, good and usable.

Money well spent :)

no i know theres a snare, i was taking the piss cus u use it so much, aha

He uses a td 6 modul.
Nice way to safe money. I think it sounds as good as the td 12 and td 20 modul.
666Difd3R 4 years ago
hahaha why bother paying 5K for a damn TD 20.. Ide get a TD6 anyday.. They seem more easier to play on anyways.. :D
DeadSilence2009 4 years ago
Exactly
666Difd3R 4 years ago
Plus TD6 is way cheaper.. I can probably get one for 600$ used :D
DeadSilence2009 4 years ago
If you're talking about me, your wrong. Its an expanded TD10 module, and the td6 is nowhere near as good as the 10, 12, or 20 live or recorded.....
ELX222 4 years ago
Sorry :P.
It just sounds so much like the td6 because it has alot of the sets a td 6 has.
