I do have a question for you. I have tried to make raw flax seed crackers at home with my food dehydrater but it always sticks to the sheet. Are you using a special sheet that didn't come with your food dehydrater? And if so, where did you get it?
@ladyjung1 Hello, I'm not Dan, but it appears that he's using the Paraflex sheets for his Excaliber. I don't have those so I use parchment paper cut to size.
I've read that flax needs to be ground up so that our bodies can absorb the nutrients in the seeds. Do you know if just soaking the seeds makes them digestible the same way that grinding does? I'm glad to see you're doing it both ways! -
Just wanted to let you know that my crackers turned out awesome! I combined the grinded flax with the flax seed and also added soaked pumkin seeds, celtic sea salt, reg sea salt, cumin, grated carrot, cayanne pepper, black pepper, onion powder, chopped fresh parsley, sesame seeds, hemp seeds, and fresh garlic... rave reviews! Thank you for such a basic recipe that I could just add to! I'm doing a colon cleanse so can't try them myself until Sat. :)
I am a visual learner and I really appreciate you teaching step by step how to make raw food crackers, it is really helpful for me to understand how to.
I just received my new dehydrator and I am anxious to start my raw food journey.
I bought my new Dehydrator and I am searching for easy raw food recipes, that I can view instead of reading since I am a visually learner it's much more easier for me to understand.

would it be possible to bake it since I don't have a dehydrator?
jacquelineisforever 2 years ago
You can put an oven on a very low setting, 200 or so, and leave them in. It acts like a dehydrator though faster.

That looks great! Could you just toast them instead of using a dehydrator?
