  • I love to watch this live when i've just take lots of weed or pharma-drugs

  • I think they put on a fucking amazing performance. Fucking love the Song Fireworks!

  • wow this is awful..

  • this sucks

  • @LennySchmills no to you too

  • @musicislife20121 please explain yourself, you I can't see you liking this band if you don't appreciate a great live performance by them.

  • i dont mean to sound like a hater cuz i actually like this band... but this is just garbage.

  • i cant even deal with this

  • @xetbxoxo hahahah !!!!

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh, how???

  • god i wish that phish would just invite amon tobin & animal collective to play at their festival. can't even imagine how much more popular some super psychedelic acts woulld be when they walked out of that place with that captive audience.

  • Jam of a lifetime.

  • going to see them on friday night at an out door venue - w00t

  • This has got to be the best way to make music... truly free and expressive. Man it's bliss.

  • i watch this at least once every day

  • including the album, I think this is the best version.

  • this is probably the first song all the animals would sing when they are freed from the zoo

  • 3 people are not made of the earth's skin

  • quintessential collective

  • burnt so deeply into my brain....

  • I LIVE FOR THIS!

  • What can't Panda Bear do?!?

  • I don't know. The drums are actually pretty intricate, I could call them easy, like at all, even though it's three drums. Each hit is planned out and timed absolutely perfect.

  • COACHELLLLLLA

  • Jack Kerouac would have loved this...

  • I love Avey Tare's stream of consciousness lyrics and singing.

Takes talent and balls to pull it off,

    kudos, crocodile!

  • damn this just might be the best video on youtube.com

  • Essplode is so good live...

I have a major crush on Avey.

  • I agree...love how it all three compilations are done together one after another for one F***ing epic set/song...Panda is the sh*it....Voices are amazing..Geologist full of energy and the hypnotizing sound you cant help but be swept up by it..PEACE!

  • whats that guitar effect they use a lot? you can hear it good at the beginning of flesh canoe

  • @6Balf9 its a quick delay, set for about 4 repeats

  • idk, i'd rather listen to them sober, it allows me to deepen my "music heart" into Animal Collective's soul haha. I really get into the music sober and it feels amazing. but when i'm high, everything gets amplified, which is good, but I'm still dozing off and thinking about stupid shit :p

  • @vector2g

I would like for you to be tripping your fucking ass off on an extremely large and unneeded quantity of LSD, listen to Animal Collective, from Campfire Songs, to Merriweather, and Strawberry Jam. Even My True Colors. Then come back and tell me that they didn't bury themselves into the deepest part of your soul. They are fucking glorious but your head is shoved too far up your ass that everything you hear is muffled.

  • @atrociousparanoia

Dude...fuck yeah. You said it right there. But what about spirit theyre gone spirit they vanished?

  • this band is complete garbage... i wish i could be cool hipsters like the rest of you and pretend this band has something musical to offer. but they don't ever thing about this song is utter garbage. the guy whining in the beginning playing shitty chords on the guitar the drummers skill less repition. The synth that might as well not be there because its so unimportant all add up to the heaping pile of filth that is animal collective.

  • @vector2g i'm so curious to kno what music you think is good ahahahahahhaha.

  • @vector2g No your a hipster

  • @vector2g lol wtf? animal collective is amazing

  • @napkins144 Thanks.

  • @vector2g Music isn't about "skill" just because the percussion isn't complicated doesn't mean that it isn't good. It fits the song well.

  • @vector2g They're a pretty good band man. They've played a lot of music, I would give some other stuff a listen before you say that. You're bound to find some studio stuff that you like, they have so much of it.

  • strange yet lovable. <3

  • god noah lennox is cool.

  • phish

  • What year is this?

  • best live song ever. god bless these dudes.

  • lovely version! how they improvise maybe, and how they dont mess around and make it sound like some abstract thing i never heard. it sounds like the actual song, with different lyrics for a bit. lovely!!!

  • damn... these guys are really good!

  • ive honestly watched these videos like 20 times each

  • i can definitely see how they are influenced by the grateful dead through this video

  • fuck me this footage is epic

  • this essplode version isnt any good:(

  • @Phimpan fuck you

  • fucking incredible

  • wow cincinnati, u took that way to far

  • =))

  • they sound better live. fuck there lives

  • at 1:37 i came.

  • Love Panda Bear's standing drums. Everyone in the band is talented, but Panda Bear seems to be the most fascinating to watch live. He's so stoic.

  • he is, but avey tare is, somehow, the unsung hero of the band. his voice is far beyond the range of panda bears, its really not comparable. panda may sing with a more aesthetically pleasing sound, but avey has the pipes, and the ability to write very complex sounds.

  • Geologist is my favorite because you can tell he gets really into the music

  • everyone's my favorite because i love them :) haha

  • @nicky560 I think avey is actually more interesting. he gets so stoked and excited, plus I like his style more. It's more flamboyant

  • I love freaks :)

  • goosebumps all over!

  • I'm in heaven.

  • One of their best live performances ever by them

  • I saw them a while ago in Canada. They were great. Definitely see them live if you have even the slightest chance.

  • Where are they playing here?

  • i think it's something called like ground zero in france. could be wrong though

  • Grrnd Zero in Lyon, France.

  • SEEING THEM IN LESS THAN 20 HOURS FROM RIGHT NOW.

    Cannot fucking wait.

  • how was it

  • how were they?

  • I had to let you know, I accidentally clicked thumbs down on this, but I didn't mean to. I would be extremely excited for you. I saw them june, 2 days after I graduated from high school, and I skipped the ceremony so I could finally experience them live. That in combination with my life made it THE most memorable experience of my life. I get chills just listening to their live stuff.

Sorry, but I had to let you know that there isn't someone out there in disapproval of your potentially good exp.

  • This live version of fireworks is, in my opinion, their best one

  • THE ONE AND ONLY BABY

  • @didyoueverdothat the same with their live version of Who Could Win a Rabbit, its just amazing.

  • yes hes

  • panda bears drumming wow, truly inspiring

  • u know it brah

  • i know right? been trying to drum like him. inspiring indeed! it's super fun to play fireworks on drums.

  • im seeing them in may too and im pretty sure im gonna orgasm when the play this song

  • I'm seeing AC live in May. I need to know if this is the kind of concert that I would feel safe bringing my girlfriend to. I would be okay with close contact because that's unavoidable, but generally the fans who would bother paying for a ticket would be a little more relaxed than a fan of Rise Against, for example, correct? Like are there huge mosh pits or is it more like just a constant hop up and down sort of feeling?

  • ive been thinking about the same thing. i havent been to a show but ive watched a lot of videos and ive always just seen the crowds just jumping up and down never moshing

  • Yeah... If that was the case I would be perfectly fine. She's just really short and I'm afraid with a lot of commotion we would get separated. Haha... Well, from the looks of it I think it will be fine. And either way, I'm not going to let that get in the way of having a KICKASS time. Haha

  • exactly

  • tell your gf to grow a pair and bring her.

  • I've only seen them once, but I cannot imagine craziness like moshing. There will be probably occasional surges of pushes forward and back, and no personal space. But you just gotta get into the music and it will be all right.

  • I saw them last tuesday, and the vibe was so relaxed.

People were just dancing for themselves and they were really calm. The moshpit thing made me laugh, AC-moshpits would suck. :P

  • they re absolutelly awesome . panda is crazy at the drums

  • Have to wait until August to see them... Unless I pay more to see then in May, NYC Cant Wait.....

  • fantastico!!!!

  • It's dawning to me more and more that AC is one of the best and most interesting bands active today.

  • Pretty much any video containing the Essplode/Fireworks medley is beautiful, epic win.

  • best ac live video

  • the best performance i've ever seen of them live.

  • I think the Malta fest was better.

  • what is he saying at the begining?

  • Panda is a fucking monster on the drums.

  • i was just about to leave a comment saying fireworks is my favorite song

then i realized i left "this is my favorite song" comments on a few other AC videos

every song of theirs is my favorite song

  • i feel the same

  • Incredible..

  • God, that Fireworks to Essplode transition is flawless.

  • great quality/synch/edit!!!

  • credit to grrndzero!

  • so amazing,

    these guys are truly amazing!
