  • Ahhhhhhh...... i remember the days when Eclair was the newest, coolest Android version

  • do not get the droid. or at least the first droid. see over a period of time the droid has these system updates. over a period of month it downloaded a new update. since that one update my phone is slow and is not responding at all the way it used to. it was an amazing phone at first but now it's just a piece of crap. i don't know if other people have this problem but i do. so if u want a new phone just wait 'till next year cuase verizon is getting the iphone 4.

  • noah, you have the best job in the world.

  • Droid 2 FTW

  • i android UI is a bit crappy...

  • Damn it I know that the nexus one is so much better like the faster processor and is so much thinner but damn theres just something about the droid. and I've used one and know that the keyboard sucks but I don't know. someone please convince me that the droid sucks I don;t want to keep second guessing the nexus.

  • @ozzytonygeezerbill droid processor might not be up to par but truly its not slow

    nexus one is just fast!

and now droid has 2.1 ( I think)

but its up to you so the droid doesn't suck

id get a my touch3g (non-slide) rooting can do wonders

  • @spitfire97 hey, thanks for your input but i did end up getting the nexus one and I absolutely love it so thanks again.

  • Almost all android phones including the G1 are multi-touch, and T-mobile has to win back android(The Good Android Phone There only good phone being the my-touch LE and nexus one), it WAS there flag ship phone...

  • nexus one is better

  • Google needs to remove the scroll ball from the Nexus. Kinda unnecessary.

  • @christhrasher well it makes scrolling through a big web page faster and also it makes it so you dont get smudges on the screen while scrolling

  • @bobfreeman814 I guess that's a good point. I heard though that there a only a few applications that actually support the scroll ball.

  • @christhrasher yah there aren't that many, I do like having it light up for different notifications though, but I do wish it had an optical dpad instead of the scroll ball.

  • 04:43 how come your motorola droid has that circular unlock screen, why is it different on my droid?

  • @xmetl His is running Andriod 2.0. Mine is 2.1 and when you unlock the phone to get to home screen its a little different.... but thats why... DROID FTW!

  • @xmetl

  • i get multi touch on my droid with android 2.1 now

  • i have had my droid for 2 months and my keyboard has had enogh time to mold itself so now they r stating to get more inclined

  • Does anybody know the release date for the nexus one on verizon everything just says spring

  • damn i cant choose somebody send me a message on witch phone you like better

  • Nexus One all the way bro!

  • @sk8forfeedboo the droid!!! just lovin the keyboard!!!!

  • @sk8forfeedboo Nexus! lol

  • Cant decide between the two had the droid when it was released but there were some problems and i had to return it now that the problem was fixed i cant decide between the two.

  • shoud;n't the droid run motoblur since it's by Motorola?

  • im glad it doesnt run motoblur cause i hate motoblur

  • @tylermc419 well....ok

  • @tylermc419 yeah Why can't they let us decide the interface we want it is my phone anyway! Thumbs if you agree

  • @tylermc419 it does run a motoblur ui bt dont worry it still can be changed to the regular ui

  • the droid gets the 2.1 update between march 18 to end of march. Its truly a wonderful phone. Its not just the physical keyboard. Its a well built beast of a phone that truly is reliable

  • Ehh I like my Droid. Nexus One looks cooler, but hey, my Droid is rooted and overcocked so that's the only way it's better. I might exchange but since I got my Droid with Buy 1 get 1 free like a week ago I doubt I can exchange one for a Nexus or both for 2.

  • Comment removed

  • One question if the nexus one ever needs repairs where do i send it?

  • Comment removed

  • i just can decide which to get. i mean the nexus one is more stylish and now has mutlitouch, and has a faster processor. but the droid has that keyboard. and im a huge fan of the slide out physical keyboard.

  • to me the full keyboard is not really needed but if you like physical keyboards it may be for you. it is though very hard to push the keys in comparison to other phones' physical keyboards. if i were you, i would go for the nexus one.

  • @Dancrof80s the keyboard just adds extra bulk and isnt very functional many people use the onscreen keyboard instead so get the nexus one

  • @Dancrof80s The Droid with Android 2.1 has miltitouch. But I think Droid has a faster processor. Get the Droid its so much better. Im getting it in Two months

  • @cookiemonster147251 wrong the droid processor is 550mhz while the nexus one clocks in at 1ghz. Also nexus has double the rom.

  • @Dancrof80s The problem is that Motorola Droid is not going to babied by google, google is launching more updates the Nexus one than other phones

  • @Dancrof80s mytouch 3g slide ?

  • @Dancrof80s fuck both of these phones! IM GETTING THE INCREDIBLE!

  • @Dancrof80s yea but the incredible is ugly as shit

  • @xmetl and?

  • Comment removed

  • @Dancrof80s i'd stick with droid if you have verizon. with nexus you can only get edge, and that shit is slow.

  • @Dancrof80s nexus one

  • @Dancrof80s if you are a fan of the droid, like myself, just root your droid, overclock it to 1 ghz, and install a custom rom if you want. Then you are pretty much running nexus one hardware and software. Actually, it might even be better then the nexus's because I ended up getting 2.2 before it was released for any other phone. My only complaint about the droid is that it is a bit heavy and bulky to carry around, but it makes up for it in power.

  • @xXCrimson650Xx that comment is like 7 months old... i have an incredible right now.

  • @Dancrof80s i know this a year old but i thout i would just reply to this comment any ways, anyway i would personally go worth the nexus one just because it has a better processor and since it is a Google branded device it will always get the latest software updates first, the droids keyboard isn't that great, the buttons are flat and not raised above the surface so typing will be a little of a hassle. so can you reply and telll me what you went with.

  • Fail

  • The hard keyboard of the Droid is great. After about a week of use you can type much faster on the Droid's physical keyboard than the android one. You can tell in the video that the reviewer uses his Nexus One and not the droid since his droid was stock and the N1 customized. He needs to really use the phone for a little bit before bashing the keyboard.

  • well its really what you really like in a phone if you like a hard keyboard then buy the droid if you like the screen keyboard buy the nexus because its just what people perfer and what they like better

  • I want top say that the moto droid is better than the nexxus one, contrary to popular opinion :O

The nexxus may have a faster processor, but does not have a dedicated gpu, so it can look misleading.

The droid has the arm A8, which is much better than the qualcomm in the nexus (even if it isnt clocked as quick) - droid also has dedicated GPU - making it more powerful overall

Plus droid has more memory and stuff, idk why google is making a huge deal out of nexus :O

  • Thank you, Preach it bretherin lol

  • @cheater1092 - and did you know that if you root your droid you can overclock it to about 1.3 Ghz? I have a droid and I can confidently say that I'm glad I got it...and that'll be doubly true when we get the official 2.1 update ;)

  • whats better nexus one or iphone?

  • the N1, better customization and just as fast if not faster than the iphone...

  • The Droid and Nexus one have massize processors. 1-1.1 Ghz. iPhone carries a wimpy, 650 Mhz.

  • Wrong, the 3GS is clocked at 600MHz. The Droid is running at 550MHz.

  • the droid is underclocked. if you root it and overclock it can go all the way to about 1.4 ghz. because ive done it lol

  • @tylermc419 overclocking is always fun :)

  • htc bravo = htc desire

  • I was going to get the N1 but it doesn't support AT&T 3G network which I have. And I could care less for Droid for Verizon. AT&T is bunch of asses for not getting the GSM version of Droid the SHOLES to the network but instead AT&T is stupid enough to get the Backflip hell of a ugly ass phone.

  • i agree completely with you fuck at&t even if they have the best coverage in my area

  • Nexus One FTW.

  • The nexus one's trackball is the dedicated button when taking photos.

  • will droid be aviable in the verizon store or will I have to buy it through google

  • verizon store

  • @SuperMasterDebator yes it

is supposed to come out on march 23rd for the veriszon network!

  • lateee march cant waittt

  • Lol Android is evolving so fast, that the info in these vids is already way out of date. Android 2.1 now had native multitouch in browser, gallery, and maps with the Droid soon to follow! ANDROID FTW!

  • my family and i r going 2 switch 2 verizon. I no they have the droid which is aa great phone but id rather have the nexus one. Does anyone know actually which month verizon should get it or should we just stop waiting and get the droid.

  • @l2fnl I wanna know the same thing.

  • could be march 20 or 23

but the worse coule be april -june

but in a about a month it will be for verizon.

I'm with you waiting for it :)

  • thx

  • june or july im pretty sure

  • verizon will get the nexus one this spring 2010 so late march they should get it so thats wut im doing im waiting for the nexus one so i can get it for verizon

  • @l2fnl with 2 month the nexus one will be out for verizon probably closer to a month

  • motorola droids firmware isn't updated

  • relax the droid and the nexus one are brother because the nexus one is coming to Verizon RELAX we are brothers. please unite fellow androids lol

  • It really comes down to preferences. The physical keyboard that the Droid has is nice. The Nexus One is sleeker and already has 2.1. The faster processor that Nexus has is different technology than the processor in the Droid, plus the Droid has a its own GPU which helps free up usage of its main CPU. I like both phones, but for me it comes down what I need and I need a physical keyboard.

  • @Daikenhunter driod does hve 2.1

  • not yet.

  • the droid in uk has multi touch US gets OWNED!!!!

  • @nodrog2994 I have multi touch in maps, gallery and stock browser in the US. Get up to date.

  • droid now has android 2.1 from new update!!!!!!!

  • god i want the n1 sooo bad

  • @ThePiratesposse droid is, but the moment is still a great phone

  • nexus one is better

  • the multitouch is available only for the nexus you idiot!!!! the other android phones will get it later...alot later

  • WRONG! Droid has already got it in maps and is getting a 2.1 update this week, which includes multitouch. And Nexus 1 owners, PLEASE stop pretending that the N1 is waaaaaaaaaaay better than the Droid. They are basically the same phone. The N1 has a better processor (but a rooted Droid is just as fast) and a different screen display. That's about the extend of the differences (other than full 2.1, which Droid is scheduled to get this week).

  • say moto droid other android phones were programed with it....htc droid eris, htc hero....nexus one is a late bloomer(technically)

  • HTC Milestone had it from day one, Droid got it 2 days ago, HTC Hero / Eris had it from day one. Etc...

    Just for your information.

  • @filipinoz I have multi touch in maps, gallery and stock browser in the US on the droid.

  • moto droid blows...nex 1 all the way

  • nexus one>iphone 3gs>droid imo

  • The moment is a very good device but, overall, the Droid is a better android device. If I were in the market right now for a smartphone, I'd get the Droid OR wait for the N1 to hit Verizon OR wait for the other awesome smartphones coming down the pipeline (HTC Supersonic, Bravo, Dell Mini 5, etc).

  • the droid is a brick

  • @GabeZTV comes with the physical QWERTY. But yeah it is a bit thicker. Lots of people enjoy having "more" (weight and size) to their phone

  • Yes, like thenewchance alluded to, I personally like having more weight and size to my cellphones. I'm not sure why, but those super light, super thin cell phones just don't "feel" right to me when using the device as a phone.

  • Yeah I agree. They feel like a cheap chinese toy...

  • Exactly!

  • I'll hop on this bandwagon and agree.

    Why?

    Because I ABUSE my electronics!

A light thin phone would feel like it's about to break if I so much as drop it.

A brick-like phone.... bring it on.

  • okay, how come all of these andriod phones have all of this new stuff? and my G1 is like old. D:

  • I own a Droid and at the moment I prefer it over the N1 because it's on a better network (Verizon) and it's less buggy (for now). However, by the time the N1 hits Verizon, the bugs will be worked out (the recent OTA update corrected a lot of them) and it will be on the best network. At that point, I might consider tossing the Droid and copping the N1. But, then again, there are some other awesome phones coming out this hear...

  • Whore.

  • who cares!

  • Going to be the same phones with the exception of size/screen/processor ... Droid is getting android 2.1 sometime in the coming weeks so same thing with different screens/full keyboard and what not

  • Thanks for this! I'm due for upgrade later this year, and by then, Nexus will be on Verizon too!

  • The nexus one isn't on any network. It's not going to any network. And Verizon is a completely different technology than what the Google Nexus one uses.

  • good for you

  • I love the design of the droid...My service is cdma so it would work for me...If things were reversed I might move to a gsm service just to have the phone.

  • The nexus One Is coming to Verizon soon should be out some time before the end of this spring.

  • It's a shame that the Nexus One is so damn ugly. HTC shouldn't have made it... Why don't they bring it in Ipod Nano -like colours? Maybe I'll wait for the SE Xperia X10

  • Why dosent your droid have 2.0.1?

  • worst intro music EVER

  • Why doesn't the Droid have 2.0.1?

  • nexus one has multi touch now

  • Noah which is your main phone? or is there another that you use?

  • You get used to the droid keyboard quick

  • @jeff30458 I wouldn't leave sprint for a day, it is truely the best network ever.

  • Yeah right sprint is the best for ripping people off because when I was with them all they did was tell me that I was going to get like almost $800 worth of stuff for free for the first mouth and the lady at C S told me that if the charges are on my bill that means that I made them. Now sprint does have some cool phones but after the two years of hell I had with them I will NEVER EVER go back to them.

  • nexus one clearly wins so fuck u

  • haha, who cares about voice quality anymore

  • lol...y r u still using 2.0?...when they release 2.0.1..which is slight better performance

  • i heard all the hype about the droid so i left sprint and my touch pro 2 to get it and had it for one day and took it back and went back to sprint. The droid definitely doesn't live up to the hype. The keyboard is dreadful, has no over wifi tethering, and feels like a brick in your hand. Plus I don't want to get started on the 80 dollars more a month verizon was going to cost me over sprint for less service.

  • droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>droid>

  • droids cooler

  • Why the hell is that Droid still on 2.0? I have a Droid and I think it kicks ass. Nexus, iPhone, yeah whatever, it's a phone and it's awesome.

  • why is his droid still using version 2.0? 2.1 has already been sent out OTA. at the time of this video, they should both be using the same version OS

  • the OFFICIAL firmware is still at 2.0.1. There is a ROM for 2.1 out but that is for rooted droid's only

  • @smackfanatic um no the droid is on 2.0.1 not 2.1

  • dude! i really love your videos - they aren't biased towards any phone (especially iphone -unlike jon4lakers' or soldierknowsbest)

    5*

  • nexus one has a legal software update for multitouch

  • @SuperTechmech yeah I read that too.

  • The Nexus One in the US now has multitouch through an OTA.

  • Lol. Fanboy-wars used to only be about OS vs OS. Now you have inter-OS fanboy wars, lol.

  • Nexus One ist the better one!!!

  • in the end noah will choose the nexus one as the winner i bet

  • Yeah I bet the Nexus One will win but I still think the Droid is a better phone. Noah spent to much time talking about the hardware keyboard on the Droid and not as much time talking about the fact that the Droid has a much better display. These are two things the Motorola Droid has over the Nexus One.

  • i wouldn't call 54 pixels much better....... u are forgetting that motorola sux balls and htc is the bawlz

  • The Droid is a better phone in my opinion and I cant see myself buying a phone like the Nexus One when I already for the most part have it in my Droid not only that but remember Android 2.1 is also going to be out for Droid and if you root the Droid you can over clock the processor speed to be the same as the Nexus One. Sure you argue the fact that the hardware keyboard on the Droid is not all that great but at least it has one.

  • You also fail to mention that even with the Droid being clocked to 1.1 - 1.3 gHz, it still is not as fast as the nexus.

  • My stock Droid is lighting fast that's right so its not even rooted so I would love to see how fast it would be if I rooted it. Also watch part two of this dog fight because it showed that the touch screen on the N1 was not as responsive vs the Droids and the N1 was loading web pages slower then the Droid. I am not saying that the Nexus One is a bad phone I am just saying that I think that people need to point out some of this stuff.

  • the touch screen is better. it is a fact.

plus you can't say anything about loading web pages. one is on t-mobile and the other is on verizon.

  • im aware that you can download apps to have multitouch on droid but im speaking about it having an official update to be written in the software for the droid that way i dont have to use the apps..

  • @vzw88 I would be really surprised if they don't have a OTA for the Droid I would think anything that you can get for the N1 you can get for the Droid and also keep in mind that Android 2.1 is coming to the droid any day now and it might already even be out but I am still using 2.01 on my Droid.

  • im using the 2.0.1 on my droid also and o be frank the only things i like of the N1 over the droid is the speed(1ghz processor) and AMOLED display..however droid isnt a slouch either cuz its a speed demon of its own lol and higher res....i hope droid gets that OTA...

  • Yes I agree with you however you do know that if you root your Droid you can over clock the processor speed on the Droid? I have heard of people over clocking the processor on the Droid to 1.3ghz with little or no issue at all. Anyways I love my Droid and I cant wait to get Android 2.1 on it.

Add me as your youtube friend.

  • Noah for the most part I like this review however you spent to much time talking about the fact that you don't like the hardware keyboard on the Droid and not anuff time talking about the fact that the Motorola Droid still has a higher resolution display vs the Nexus One my point is that even though you don't like the hardware keyboard this is still something the droid has that the N1 does not have. I will take a look at the Nexus One when it comes to Verizon but I do not think I will buy it..

  • being tha n1 recieved an OTA update for multitouch from google..will google issue the same update to the Moto Droid??

  • You can already get multitouch for the Droid.

  • audio quality is a bit low

    nice review

  • nexus 1 just got am ultitouch update

  • the nexus one is coming to verizon

  • Google has release or will release a update that gives the Nexus One multitouch on the browser, map and gallery. Check out engadget for more info. I have a droid and one thing I don't like is how thin the screen is. Iphone was easier to type on because it was wider. Landscape is good to type on but I feel like I wasted money since I don't use the keyboard as much as I thought I would.

  • used to be that Android fans loved the HTC Hero...then the MotoDroid came out and everyone switched to that....now Android fans love the Nexus....when a new and better Android powered phone comes out months from now, Android fans will again switch to that....man, phone geeks are soooo fickle....is that how you all are with women too?

  • and now the nexus 1 has multi touch its being sent OTA

  • Is the Nexus one coming to Verizon anytime soon??? does anyone know??

  • @rockford74 this spring

  • Does anybody know if any company is going to release an android phone with physical keyboard and the specs of the nexus one or better?

    Thanks!

  • AT&T is coming out with Android OS phones too!

Check the official AT&T website for more details.

  • In your face Moto Droid! You thought that you'd be the best Android phone...until the 2.1 came out with HTC.

Plus the Moto Droid's keyboard is horrible
