  • Your Video Arizona shooting, Josh Groban discusses the dangers of over-the-top rhetoric Is Very Useful Sharing

  • George Stroumboulopoulos is one of the precious few interviewers who treat every guest on his show with honest enthusiasm and interest and actually listen to them and ask relevant and real questions. Fantastic interview (hopefully the full interview will be out soon!), thank you for the upload!

  • Where is this full interview??? I wanna see

  • And here I thought people said Bush was a bloodthirsty vampire who and that Dick Cheneye traded oil for blood.

I mean, when the left use this rhetoric its okay, but the right? then its horrible.

See, no normal person starts shooting into a mob of people just because what they heard on the streets.

NOBODY DOES, only a mentally retarded person would, and they could be triggered by music, movies or speeches, but if we are gonna live in a censored soicety, then that would be even worse then his crime

  • You must the people disfrustrate ... then you don`t need to disarm them

  • it was obama who said if the right brings a knife "we'll bring a gun". it was obama who called the republicans his enemies. it was obama who urged his supporters to "get in their faces"....and thats just the words of ONE high profile lefty....and the leftists are gonna lecture people on being civil? teach by example first, folks OK?

  • oh gimme a break josh! dont tell me you buy into this crap about rhetoric setting this off. the shooter was a delusional mentally ill whack job and the left tries to use this tragedy for political expediency and you buy into this? you're smarter than that.

  • @wadyano -I dunno. I think all Josh is saying is that "respectfull disagreement" is a good thing. Pretty hard to argue with that. still, you do bring up good points, like about the shooter being mentally ill. but, in the end, yup, pretty difficult to argue against respectful disagreement.

  • @travpoet respectful dissagreement is fine, but the implication is that disrespectful disagreement was behind the shooting and that is not the case.

  • i second the "all for communicaiton part"

  • @smokeringspipedreams @jeridiculous

I'd like to read the info about him being liberal, and the info about him owning _Mein_Kampf_ and _The_Communist_Manifesto_. do you know where I can look it up? So many conflicting stories and not enough time to sift through the spin on both sides of the tale, but so sad.

And people don't have to be against someone to kill them. Wasn't John Lennon's murderer a fan?

  • Josh Groban?...who indoctrinated this guy?

  • @FOBmzunguREPTILICUS He's entitled to his well thought out opinion. Just like my opinion that you are an ass.

  • @Shelby596 ...happy to b apart of ur well-thought-out opinion...har har

  • @FOBmzunguREPTILICUS he grew up in california and has been in show biz since his teens. how'd you expect his to come out?

  • @wadyano ...exactly:}

  • What a bunch of horseshit, this had nothing to do with political speech. This had to do with crazy people not being locked up because they have "rights" and the drug prozac which causes people to be violent if they are already nuts. Enough of the bullshit about politics.

  • @SmokeRingsPipeDreams Loughner is obsessed with politics. This was an attempted assassination of a political figure. You can't say this wasn't political... it clearly was.

  • @Jeridiculous If that is true, he was obsessed with liberal politics but what nbc and other liberal outlets are spewing is that this is somehow the fault of conservitives. From what I've heard though, he was very mentally ill and would have gone off on somebody sooner or later. I don't think it was about the target, but about his mental instability. But liberals are jerking this all over to smear conservatives. Which is disgusting and immoral, but more so since this guy was a liberal.

  • @SmokeRingsPipeDreams This guy was all over the political spectrum. He owned Mein Kampf as well as the Communist Manifesto. The only things we know for sure is that certain aspects of his ideology is radical right-wing, such as being decidedly anti-government. He also has ties to a radical right-wing group called Sovereign Citizens, who believe the current United States Government is illegitimate. Members of Sovereign Citizens have caused violence before.

  • @Jeridiculous He was a socialist and a liberal. He shot her because she was a blue dog democrat, and not liberal enough for his tastes. But like I said before, he really did this because he is menatlly disturbed and all of the evidence shows this to be true. He should have been in a mental hospitol and should not have been on prozac. It is a very dangerous drug. And until we get off the political nonsense and focus on the real cause of these shootings they will continue.

  • @SmokeRingsPipeDreams Yeah, Jared is certainly a disturbed character, and had been harassing and stalking Giffords since 2007, and it was only a matter of time that he did something rash. However, his motivations for taking such actions need to be addressed.

I'd like to see how you've come to the conclusion that he is a socialist and a liberal, and shot her because she wasn't "liberal enough".

  • @Jeridiculous his motivations? HE WAS A NUT JOB TRYING TO GET ATTENTION TO HIS MADE UP CAUSE! according to his friends he was apolitical, didn't listen to talk radio and din't watch the pundits. he had his own ideas about things and got really made when people didn't see it that way. he believed the government was practicing mind control. hello? how dare the left use this as a way to try and silence opponents. how dare you guys.

  • @wadyano Don't hate the game, hate the playa?

  • @Jeridiculous i hate the game and the playas who choose to play it. to try and capitalize on a horror like this to blame or at least tame the fire of your political opponents is unconscionable. and it started literaly within two hours of the shooting. the bodies weren't even cold yet.

  • @wadyano got really made?? I think you mean 'mad'

  • I can listen to the craziest people, but that does not make me get out and shoot everyone. Education is the key, that way you can listen to everything, even if you don't "respecfully disagree" with someone and get totally fucking angry. He did it, he should pay...let's stop blaming people, and focus on education and information!

  • Communication and respectful disagreement are great, but it's a little hard here in the U.S. when billionaires and corporations spend so much on disinformation and inciting fear and anger in order to protect their profits. It only takes a few hundred million dollars to completely convince most of our population that tobacco didn't cause cancer, global warming is a conspiracy, evolution is a hoax, government is absolutely evil, etc. The Koch brothers' massive influence is a great example.
