don't get me wrong, there is nothing bad about graphics, but sacrificing the graphics for the portability is not too much of a drawback as long as the gameplay is still good.
I guess cause someone before me (or maybe it was just me) brought it up and that it's a hot idea for an action sidescroller. Someone smart should make a fan game version to raise awareness for it ^_^

Good review. You pointed out pretty much all of the good/bad points about it. I had a couple of problems with the game myself.
The first was the backtracking. You mentioned it in the review, but to clarify, you're pretty much backtracking half of the game. You get from point A to B with Nero, and from B back to A with Dante.
Also, while this wasn't in any DMC, I still wished there was blocking. Being surrounded really screws up your style rating because you're guaranteed to get hit.

I have only played the demo of DMC 4 but was pretty impressed, and with this video, I trust your judgement on most things the end, I think I'll grab it.

I would certainly not mind having inferior graphics. I grew up in the snes and nes generation. I am not picky about graphics.
