Do you believe Moses was a prophet of God? Do you think he was hated in his day? Of course he was. Do you think God would allow people of Moses day into His kingdom who still hold a visceral hatred for Moses? Do you believe God allows hatred into His kingdom? Smith was not hated or defied because he called himself a prophet. If you read the personal sworn statements by those who knew him you would see why they did not trust Smith. He was considered a drunk, a charlatan, a liar and a womanizer.

Go visit a Christain Church and you will see that we focus on the Love of Jesus Christ, the love of God, not the great works of man. Yes, we do teach about other prophets that had great realtionships with God and did great things, but we do not talk about them as much as you talk about Joseph Smith.  Our lessons always ends up with the Love of Jesus Christ who died for our sin and to build a strong realationship with God.

I learn about Him and His teachings everytime I go to church. Mormons honor Joseph because he did a great work, but Christ far surpassed him. I've been to the Mormon Church plenty of times. I was looking into the church and met with the missionaries. They rarely teach the love of Jesus Christ. I mean they cry during the Joseph Smith movie, why? It wasn't sad. Go to your church again and really listen and look, You seem like you center everything around Christ, "Church of Jesus Christ," but the teachings is wrong. Joseph Smith does even say that he is better than Christ.

I have read that verse several times. I am not rules by emotion or feelings.

I search the scriptures daily for the truth. I can see by Gods Word that the BoM is false.

Moroni is a spirit and as such I am required as a Christian to test him as well. I find him lacking in truth.

Why is it so very difficult for a mormon to tell me what the BoM gives me that the Bible does not? Can you just tell me what it is in the BoM that is not in the Bible that I need to realize?

It is another witness that Jesus is the Christ. It's really for those who don't believe in Him. You, a believer in Christ should love this book. If that is true you should be able to spit them out very quickly. The simple truth is it is not true, the BoM is not a witness of the true Christ but an example of the false witness in Galatians 1:6-10.

The Bible itself is made up of 66 different though harmonious books with 40+ different authors that provide many WITNESSES to Gods Truth, Gods person and the very character and truth of the Messiah.

These 66 witness each attest to the others credibility and have been shown trustworthy by the Holy Spirit, archeology, secular history, geography and prophetic fulfillment.

Using the trustworthiness of Gods word and those external test the BoM proves to be not of the Living God.

If there needed to be a restoration of the eternal Word (after God Himself established it here)then both Christ and the Holy Spirit failed in their first mission, one to be the Word in the flesh and the other the comforter and guide us in the truth.

Then we have to believe that the one God sent to teach, guide and comfort could not do His job as God but that somehow Joseph Smith could do it.
