On my B200 (same as YS200, but with built-in speakers) it was something like job+store+exit. It also lets you test all keys and controls and the display. You'll loose all of your sounds, settings and sequences though. I can't test it here because unfortunately I don't have this synth anymore.
I believe the YS100 is using FM synthesis. Not sure if it's 4-op or 6-op, probably 4. I think the synth engine is equivalent to V50. I am surprised that the keyboard is gone though. I have a V50, and the keyboard responds to aftertouch and velocity 100% perfect. I can't say the same thing about Roland products.
@dvamateur The YS100 used the tone generation of the DX-11 / TX81Z and so has 4-op FM. But Effects were added and you could edit the sounds only in an easy edit mode and so not control everything like on the V-50 which had the same generation again.
greatful this is like I retry a ys100 today I had a YS 200 a longtime ago and I very like his synthesis .and at this time imade the same sound as the starting of man in the mirror of M Jackson (si..ré la.. ré.. sol.. ré.. fa#.. ré...)
I have a ys-200....i found it in at work in a heap of rubbish....all i had to do was replace the mains cable..one of the lower keys wont play though :( :)
Nice work, great to see this unconventional looking FM-synth here. You obviously know how to play. I own the YS-200, it has the same look and voice architecture but also has a sequencer. Have you programmed any sounds of your own on your YS-100?
Well, you need just one MIDI cable. Connect your controller keyboard MIDI OUT to synth's MIDI IN and it's done.
In this particular case I routed signal to computer and back via MIDI interface, this way gives you more control possibilities (i.e. you can send any program change, control parameter to synth in MIDI-OX software, or just filter unwanted midi messages).

Hey there. I'm just wondering if theres anyway of connecting the MIDI so the Korg plays as well as just playing the sound from the Yamaha.

Certainly, I used to layer mine with other instruments like that all the time.

I used to have the YS200. I loved it so much.

Great to hear this again, the YS 100 was my first synth ever, until I sold it. You make it sound quite well.
