  • The bass sounds amazing on this!

Peter Hook is a legend and has such a way of making Bass sound like the lead guitar! <3

  • Outtake from Unknown Pleasures.... it must be; the production is exactly the same....... or quite close.....

  • 0:50 that bass man.

    sooo goooood.

  • @current18 BMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM badness!!!! :DDD

  • NOMAMES!! de lo mejor del post-punk

  • Love This song

  • Should we move on or stay safely away?

  • @kaosupergirl This band are awesome. Some of the best lyrics ever, more so from a sociological out look, given the time of it's writing, his back ground and mental state(which was better than most realise)

  • It's one of those awesome songs that never made it to albums. This one wasn't even a single,it was unknown till Substance.

  • @TheEloeo It wasn't "unknown" - you TWAT.

  • @TheOldEchoes Well it wasn't featured on any of the albums and they never played it live,so i doubt many people knew it. Also, there is no reason to call me a twat in all caps.

  • @TheEloeo Wrong about two things - however, appreciate the Caps thing. Sorry... TWAT.

  • @TheOldEchoes I know you're a sad troll,but i still feel like arguing with you over this.

  • @TheEloeo Okay FUCKWIT - "From safety to safety" was on an compilation album (now rare but I do own a copy of the EP) called 'Earcom 2 Contradiction.' The other JD song on it is "Autosuggestion." The other bands on it are 'Thursdays' and 'Basczax.' In fact, you can listen to "Celluloid love" by the later right hear on Youtube. Now go check it out and on the bottom of the album cover you'll see the words "Joy Division." DON'T FUCK WITH A HARDCORE FAN YA CLOWN.

  • @TheOldEchoes It's impossible! You have defeated me! You're so hardcore i can never match up to you and now all i can do is commit suicide.

Anyway,i didn't know this song was on the Earcom album, but you gotta admit it was indeed obscure, and not their official album, but a collab with two other bands.

Also,i still feel like you're trolling me,i don't think anyone has the ego to admit they're "hardcore fans" of any band, unless they want to make huge asses of themselves.

  • @TheOldEchoes

    sorry for becoming a troll

    whatever ?

  • @TheEloeo "but I still feel like arguing with you over this" - you wanted to argue - you LOST and were WRONG. SIMPLE. It ain't trolling it is getting your FACTS RIGHT.

  • @TheEloeo That would explain why it took a while for me to find it, given I didn't know the name of it even:)

  • @MrPainfullytrue Pardon?

  • R.I.P Ian Curtis

  • PETER HOOK

  • Can't decide which Joy Division song is my favourite -they are all:-)) Thanks so much for the upload!

  • Dont know why they never used this on any of the documentries seems the perfect song to finish on

  • one of the best joy division songs! so beautiful

  • I love the meaning of this song. Should you stay in a place of comfort with a sense of security/safety but with boredom and of less value OR a place where you face your insecurities and paranoia and have more fulfillment.

  • Best band ever......without a doubt.

  • @MrPainfullytrue You are so right! And the best soulful voice:-)

  • kinda sounds like he's rapping.

    creative, while still keeping that

    classic I.Curtis style.

  • Its really disappointing Ian is dead.

Imagine how great music could've been.

I like New Order...but not really

  • this song is precious,like the songs of The Smiths,old Legiao Urbana,Black Sabbath(ozzy time),The Cure,Inspiral Carpets ... :)

  • brillant song:P

  • Thank You

  • fucking great bass

ilove this song and joy division

  • There's no live version because they never played it live, although it was soundchecked for the Apollo gig in 79'

  • This is my fav song by joy division though I love all their other songs too...best band ever

  • @MrPainfullytrue i have also loved this song for many years' now

  • no live-version of this song that I know of...only published on a ep, w. komakino, as you said, and dead souls (?)...

  • is there a live version??

  • dunno', maybe... I think that it might be on the latest joy Division movie, not "Control"...

  • @guitar19904 studio fella ery time :D its great :DDDDd

  • What for a song! A great Moment in the rock´n roll history! A grant cover from the velvet underground!

    Wow!!!!!!

  • Excellent - thank you! This is one of my favorite Joy Division songs!

  • i luv this song

  • Don't know the song, but the picturesare very nice. Thaks for posting!

  • agree !

  • This song is WAY too unknown! Probably because it was never played live. Though, I listened to a live recording of, I think it was 'She's Lost Control' and prior to that, Hooky played the bass intro of this song. Anyway, beautiful song, magnificent lyrics. Should've been a more prominent piece in Joy Division's repertoire.
