@kaosupergirl This band are awesome. Some of the best lyrics ever, more so from a sociological out look, given the time of it's writing, his back ground and mental state(which was better than most realise)
@TheOldEchoes Well it wasn't featured on any of the albums and they never played it live,so i doubt many people knew it. Also, there is no reason to call me a twat in all caps.
@TheEloeo Okay FUCKWIT - "From safety to safety" was on an compilation album (now rare but I do own a copy of the EP) called 'Earcom 2 Contradiction.' The other JD song on it is "Autosuggestion." The other bands on it are 'Thursdays' and 'Basczax.' In fact, you can listen to "Celluloid love" by the later right hear on Youtube. Now go check it out and on the bottom of the album cover you'll see the words "Joy Division." DON'T FUCK WITH A HARDCORE FAN YA CLOWN.
@TheOldEchoes It's impossible! You have defeated me! You're so hardcore i can never match up to you and now all i can do is commit suicide.
Anyway,i didn't know this song was on the Earcom album, but you gotta admit it was indeed obscure, and not their official album, but a collab with two other bands.
Also,i still feel like you're trolling me,i don't think anyone has the ego to admit they're "hardcore fans" of any band, unless they want to make huge asses of themselves.
@TheEloeo Hence, PUT SIMPLY - YOU WERE WRONG. Moroever these were your words -"but i still feel like arguing with you over this" - so don't give me this crap about trolling you - you wanted to argue and you LOST.
@TheEloeo Put simply - YOU WERE WRONG - and don't give me this crap about trolling you - these are your words - "but i still feel like arguing with you over this" - hence, you wanted to argue and you LOST.
@TheEloeo "but I still feel like arguing with you over this" - you wanted to argue - you LOST and were WRONG. SIMPLE. It ain't trolling it is getting your FACTS RIGHT.
I love the meaning of this song. Should you stay in a place of comfort with a sense of security/safety but with boredom and of less value OR a place where you face your insecurities and paranoia and have more fulfillment.
This song is WAY too unknown! Probably because it was never played live. Though, I listened to a live recording of, I think it was 'She's Lost Control' and prior to that, Hooky played the bass intro of this song. Anyway, beautiful song, magnificent lyrics. Should've been a more prominent piece in Joy Division's repertoire.
The bass sounds amazing on this!
Peter Hook is a legend and has such a way of making Bass sound like the lead guitar! <3
