  • A useful information for a newbies like me, thanks i'l try it... cute voice by the way....

  • Very informative would have liked it to longer so we could slow down and take more information in.

  • thank you very much. big help ...

  • great video

  • I like the effect. Nice tutorial.

  • you mean High Dynamic Range?

  • @Jigsaw2383 No? HDR is something quite different, where you take 3 or more pictures with different exposures and merge them together.

  • @TheHanekam I know that i'm a photographer but HDR gives the same effect as Dragan effect :\

  • @Jigsaw2383 I disagree. The HDR images that I've seen, and that I do myself, do not look like this, and take a lot more work. I don't even think this resembles a fake HDR effect.

But I guess we agree to disagree on this:)

  • @Jigsaw2383 This isn't the same as HDR.. there are some similarities.. like they both increase the contrast and sharpness.. but HDR works better for scenery because you increase the visibility of things that are further away and out of focus while with this effect you make the background darker to make the person more the subject of the photo.

  • @DJRoksor you mean bokeh effect but why would you like to increase the contrast and the sharpness on the out of focus background??? doesn't need any sharp or contrast mod, also HDR has a plenty of solutions isn't only one if you know how to do it of curse, well practice makes the difference.

  • you are amthing i looking for it for long time thank u

  • @Waleedelmelegy You're welcome. Glad you like it:)

  • too harsh for my style

  • @MeatPunch lol

  • @MeatPunch Well then just don't use it...easy as that.

  • @MeatPunch LOL !

  • I followed your steps but my result came out better because I am using a Mac. Steve Job's ghost told me so.

  • Too fast for me to catch everything. I wasted my time. Why not go slower so everyone can follow you. Do two videos instead of one.

  • @Louise1563 Have you heard of the "pause" button? Everyone seems to be able to follow.....

  • Thanks you so much ! Very Nice effect !

  • EXCELLENT Tutorial, I just gave it a shot and LOVE the outcome. I used CS3 and had no problem. I've been wondering how to create this effect for months. Thank you very, very much!!!

  • @helmutt Happy to help, glad you like it:)

  • You have a nice speaking voice and I really appreciate this tutorial!

  • @Doriamo Thank you very much. Happy you like it:)

  • thanks so much for the tutorial! I couldnt make the brush work, even though the opacity was on 100% :/ but my image still looks nice :)

  • @ 7:40

    --Why is not working...?

    @7:47

    -- i don't know...?

the opacity brush was at 0% Ha ha ha... that made me laugh...

anyways nice try, but the lines are almost too dark. the rule is to brighten up the highlights and make the textures more prominent rather than, making the dark parts darker.

  • THank You Sooo Much and its English and slow

  • @SouthernMPire You're welcome. Yes, I couldn't find any good tutorials in english, so i Made my own:)

  • @ranjoharbri Happy to help. Thanks for your comment:)

  • Thx for the tutorial:) Next time can you please read out the numbers for the values that you change, cuz it's hard to see what's written on the screen all the time

  • @itsjusticebeats The values will be different every time, depending on the picture you use. So play around with it to get the best result for your specific picture.

  • @itsjusticebeats thank you.

Like I say in the video, the values are different for every picture, so you just have to try and see what works for you:)

  • excelent tutorial!

    Thank you very much!!!

  • i don't have the Variations option on my CS5. are you in 8/16/32bits????

i tried to convert to 32b and still didn't work.

    thanks.

  • @willdurden I in 32 bit

  • Brilliant tutorial. Thank you very much.

  • dragan, hill, greenberg, bradley all feature 'dimensional look' portraits that makes the photo look 3D and has nice depth. but what photographers often do is just wildly take pictures without due consideration to the lighting conditions and hope photoshop do magic and make their photos look like dragan's. dragan's photos all have perfect lighting....this is where their intelligence separates the photo results with the photos 100% made by photoshop...

  • Nothing Have 2 say, But NICEEEEEEEEEEEEE thaks
