  • You know natural talent isn't as good as dedication and hard work ;)

  • @UisBad Well I'd like to think that you are right - because in that case I might have a hope of being able to claim I can play the drums one day! ;-)

  • thank a bunch cause most folks here never tell u how that get that clean sound that would be very helpful

  • thanks for the tips perhaps u could do a tutorial one day to show us slow tech folks

  • @morrisman64 You know, I might just do that as you are not the first person to ask. I'll see how busy this weekend is... :-)

  • dumb question how do u hook up the drums to pc (camera) to get clean sound like u got??

  • @morrisman64 Not dumb at all, as it's a bit complicated. I am recording the ambient sound with the camera mic but have also wired the drum kit into my Mac and am recording my 'performance' in GarageBand. I then make an MP3 of my playing using GB, and drop that and the video into FinalCut Express and match up the ambient sound waveform with the MP3 waveform to sync the two and so replace the sound on the video with the MP3 recording. It's more effort but the sound quality is much better.

  • 3:07-- hilarious!!!! Man, keep practicing... You have talent to share!!!!

  • @jayembee1 how do y ou record tiss??plis tell mee

  • @JameZzrockz So, first of all I wrote a tune in GarageBand using loops to give me something to play along with. Then I connect the DTX module stereo out to GarageBand on my iMac via a Konnect 8 audio interface so I can hear both the tune and my drumming on headphones. Then I video myself as I play, and record my drumming using GarageBand. Finally I output an MP3 of tune+drums from GarageBand and use that to replace the ambient sound on the video using Final Cut Express. Hope this helps!

  • how do you record this

  • Friend, I've been playing around the same amount of time as you, (if you wanna see how I've progressed, check my channel), I practice 3 hours a day, try to practice as much as possible man!!

  • @metalmaster126 Ah me. Would that I *could* practice 3 hours a day. But those days of youth where I had time to do so are now long gone; long hours at a hectic job in high tech, a house that needs to be maintained, dinners that need to be made and a lady friend that needs to be entertained and so on all eat so much of my time it's beyond a joke. Plus I am really old, so learning new things is tough now *sigh*

But I can definitely tell you practice more than I do! You are good. Keep it up!

  • @Jayembee1 Drumming's not about playing - it's about feeling =D

  • @metalmaster126 LOL. Yes, I think that you are right there... :-)

  • pretty good

  • @tylerwatt12 Thank you! It may be a slow process but I am getting better at this drumming thing. I just wish I was getting a *lot* better but there you...

  • Whahaha :) I'm doing the same embarrassments with sticks all the time. Didn't know it looks so funny sideways :) Just think to yourself if it's happened on live performance

  • Wooo! You know, when I got my DD-2 back at Uni, I really thought that I had arrived. It made all that goth-y riffing just sooooo much better! :-) And yes, darn tootin' we should make some noise again soon. Esp as you haven't played the entirely tricked out drum kit. I think you will like it...

  • @Jayembee1 How's this weekend work for ya?

  • Excellent... I just got a new amp and a boss DD-7... We should jam again soon.
