I agree with snakus63. Saw this as a teenager because some friends had seen it and thought it was cool. When I wasn't laughing I was groaning it was so bad. I do remember Paul Simon's SNL parody of it which was hilarious.
@blackeroni that's because when preforming that move you slightly roll your nuts or sometimes crush them.
I use to sometimes hate my sensei while training use to make us stand with our legs together and do that, I think it was to train us with our legs slightly apart.
The 1971 date was the release in Hong Kong not the US release for Big Boss. The Green Hornet or Born Losers started little to no following here. After Billy Jack we saw 40 to 50% increase in interest at the schools I worked at.
ok so you spoil the video in the title but also the top rated comments are about how whitey didn't really kicker whitey-er it was a asian man. well that was pretty much a waste
Yes there was a fill in for him bong soo han did some of the stunts look it up wiki,LA times etc especially the kick scene in the dinner and this famous kick to this fool
Sorry Gladiamdamm, but there actually was NO fill in for Tom Laughlin. There is of course, no way you can substantiate what you are "trying" to press.
Obviously, you didn't know and still do not know much about Mr Lauglin. Now if you do wish to continue on your present course of believing about some so called "fill in" then you are quite at liberty to do so. I'll finish on this note because you apparently haven't got your facts correct at all.
@Skatemouth sorry dude, but you're wrong. Tom Laughlin's stand in was Hapkido master Bong Soo Han. This is fairly common knowledge. You might wanna google Bong Soo Han and see what is said about him. Even Laughlin admits that there was no way he could have ever done such a kick.
Is this the same guy that would stand in front like 20 guys and say "Give me a minute"...... then slowly remove his boots and socks over what seemed like 45 minutes?...... then the "Bad Guys" would line up in a single file and walk robotically up to him so he could do some karate move on them?
THAT TO ME IS THE ALL TIME NUMBER ONE MOVIE QUOTES!! PEOPLE TALK ABOUT TAXI DRIVERS " YOU TALKIN TO ME? OR TERMINATORS " I'LL BE BOCK" NAW!! THIS IS THE ALL TIME MOVIE QUOTES!!!!!1
The uncredited fight double for Tom Laughlin was a Hapkido master by the name of Bong Su Han!! And no where in the credits does it ever make any mention of him!! Shameful!!
@doronm63 That is not true. He is listed during the opening credits, and also fights alongside Tom Laughlin as a character in the film's sequel, The Trial of Billy Jack.
@doronm63 Yes! and sadly Master Han passed away after many years of teaching here in California. He is also remembered for his sense of humor for playing Dr. Klahn in the cult classic " Kentucky Fried Movie".
@doronm63 There's actually a legitimate reason for that. There were a lot of production problems with the film. In fact, there was a 2yr lapse in its filming. That's common knowledge. But what many people don't know is that only SAG members got credits in that movie. My TKD instructor, Larry McGill, was 1 of those non-SAG actors.
There's 2 ways of looking at it. One way could be that it's just tough shit for the people who didn't dues. OR, the sharing of royalty money could've been the issue.
@doronm63 I'm watching this right now on Netflix and during the intro credits it says, "Hapkido Karate: Bon Soo Han of South Korea". Spelling's different but they did give him credit.
@doronm63 That is not true. He is right there in the credits, listed as a fight double for Tom McLaughin. McLaughlin's other two stunt doubles were not credited, however.
@doronm63_Not true. Bong Soo Han's name does appear in the credits, and he later co-starred in the sequel "The Trail Of Billy Jack". Master Han was given his respect by Mr. Laughlin and company.
@mkeogh76 Believe it or not, Tom Laughlin is a pretty accomplished martial artist. I'm told that he was a 2nd or 3rd dan. Either way, your comment was epic.
@mkeogh76 JAJAJAJAJAJAJAAJAJA thanks for that comment i needed that laugh!!!! i thought the same thing and could not put it into words then i saw your comment.. .. . @ilikesusi123 I saw this movie in 1973 at least 20 times in the theater when I was 13. I even dragged my dad to see it with me and I'll NEVER forget his response. He thought that he had failed as a parent !!! What a generational difference there was back then.

Back before Bruce Lee there was Billy Jack! This is the move that started the karate craze in America. Bruce brought it to its peak but Billy started it!
@attra91 Thats not altogether accurate. Bruce was seen on TV in the Green Hornet which aired 1966-1967. The Born Losers which was the first movie with Billy Jack was released in 1967 and it didnt have that much Karate in it. Billy Jack came out in 1971 as did The Bog Boss.
Actually the guy he kicked is more of a Democrat type Union thug, using the government power for his own means. Not very Republican. Carry on, though!
The movie that started it all. People line up for hours to watch one of the worst movies of the year. It was that ass kicking Billy Jack that they wanted to see. I was 9 then and I was one of them.
@Bryan90260 Yes we saw it in a drive in. Remember those haa. They said the movie was a small independent film that would fail, and today it is still a cult classic.
I agree with snakus63. Saw this as a teenager because some friends had seen it and thought it was cool. When I wasn't laughing I was groaning it was so bad. I do remember Paul Simon's SNL parody of it which was hilarious.

Back before Bruce Lee there was Billy Jack! This is the move that started the karate craze in America. Bruce brought it to its peak but Billy started it!
attra91 1 year ago
@attra91 Thats not altogether accurate. Bruce was seen on TV in the Green Hornet which aired 1966-1967. The Born Losers which was the first movie with Billy Jack was released in 1967 and it didnt have that much Karate in it. Billy Jack came out in 1971 as did The Bog Boss.

@NotSoOldHippy

@1Bandit455 Yea, he lost the fight, but, at least he went down swinging. You might get your ass kicked, but, at least take out one of 'em, real bad!

Too bad he wasn't an Indian. Then the fight scene would have been a jazzy dance number as well!
