Each NATO ally can choose where and when it wants to commit troops. Theres plenty of European troops in the middle east not operating under the NATO flag, for example peacekeepers in Lebanon.

Each NATO ally can choose where and when it wants to commit troops. Theres plenty of European troops in the middle east not operating under the NATO flag, for example peacekeepers in Lebanon.
War in Iraq is hurting Americas economy and military. NATO isnt in Iraq but it is in Afghanistan because a NATO ally the USA was attacked. Now you may not believe 9/11 was caused by Bin laden but the world powers do think that and 67 British citizens died in those attacks which is why we are in Afghanistan
