@jrb363 -- I think you're overreacting a bit. First of all, Bird overreacted to Dr. J putting his forearm on him. If you watch the video, Dr. J turned his back to look for the ball, and anyone who knows defense in hoops knows you make contact with your man when you do this so you don't lose him. Bird then tries to break his arm. He could've just swatted the arm away. I'm a Bird fan, but make no mistake, during his time, he was considered one of the dirtiest players in the NBA.

And don't just assume Dr. J wasn't jawing his ass off either...I think Bird's 42 points spoke for itself in this game, and Dr. J was getting manhandled on the court, and further embarrassed himself by losing his cool and throwing a punch.

Ok, first off, show the whole fight scene if possible. Bird straight up went after the Doc. He threw a wild right hand that missed, so Doc protected himself and responded. Moses & Barkley got involved after bird had already thrown the first punch & right when the Doc was starting to respond. Bird was feeling himself & got carried away.
