  • hahaha... love those rings grinding in his runs...

  • Art Tatum, Indiscutido predecesor de Oscar Peterson. Genio total!

  • what album did you get this from?

  • This is pure Tatum: a magical blend of creative mind and fingers that boggles the mind. Anyone capable of a "rendition" would be as well known as Mr. Tatum has been and remains. No one has ever been able to match his genius. Thanks for the posting.

  • Did he actually play this or is it a rendition? Just asking cause the audio quality is very modern.

  • this is him playing , they changed the sound quality with modern technology

  • About a year before Tatum died another pianist Ray Heindorf recorded Tatum at a private party, many jazz pianists like Hank Jones think they are his best recordings both for sound and the relaxed informal feel of Tatum's playing. This is from the album '20th century genius" on the verve label.

  • @pianiplunker I have this album copied on CD and on my iPod every track is just pure gold. Especially Sweet Lorraine, Willow Weep, Love for Sale, Begin the Beguine. Just great music.

  • Beautifully put together...the magic of art on canvas and (art ) in your ear!!! Thank you for this contribution

  • Now this is art! Beautiful...

Art Tatum's style goes good with the artwork. If you put on classical music with the pictures, it just doesn't fit as naturally as the style of Art Tatum.
