Crowder is stellar. He's one of the great satirists for the conservative movement. However, in this video, he almost advocates that most science is bunk and can't be trusted. The way we understand the weather, nature, and the universe changes almost on a monthly basis. Scientists always change their information/theories because they receive new data constantly, science isn't a grand conspiracy against Jesus, it seems that some conservatives think that way though :/
Chaos Theory in a nutshell. Even if they have awesome data, there's no way they can have every variable controlled for the hurricane season. If anything is different from their vacuum-generated assumptions (which it will be), then their prediction will be wrong, or at best "accidentally right".

NOAA does science that keeps the world rotating. I don't expect simple High School Grads to understand the complexities involved. Even a well educated Folks have problems grasping the complex math used in predicting the future. @StevenCrowder I normally enjoy all of your videos (especially the ones involving celebrity impersonations), but this one I respectfully disagree on. NOAA is an example of a benevolent government agency that operates off a fraction of a penny on the federal tax dollar. No NOAA, no data (including LEO and GEO satellites). And no data, no forecasts.
As far as climate predictions go, climate does, in fact, "change," and not w / o significant human repercussions.

Maybe they can't predict hurricanes or any other weather pattern for that matter, weeks in advance, but they are great at predicting the weather 24 hours in advance. I love to sail, so I benefit greatly from it's weather charts. I find that more often then not, they are pretty spot on. This video almost seems like a liberal parody of conservative propaganda. I am actually a big fan of Crowder -- I've circulated many of his videos. Loved some of the older ones. Very intelligent and mature guy, if you ask me (not a given for guys in their 20s these days). But this one I disagree with. Even if the point is well taken on the accuracy of "hurricane season forecasts," NOAA is the basis behind ALL civilian forecasts.
The Only forecaster on earth that consistently beats the odds and gets it right is Piers Corbyn... not NOAA, not the MET or Hadley, No one else comes close. Also interesting is that Governments and business's like Insurance, Oil and Shipping Companies pay him for his forecasts...because they Are accurate while the predictions from NOAA and Hadley are worthless.
Btw...Piers Corbyn sez AGW is a joke...and he demonstratively knows more about the weather than NOAA and the rest combined.

The notion that a "private company" has their own privatized set of GLOBAL environmental data, including GEO and LEO satellite constellations, global upper-air weather stations (in the USA, mostly located at civilian and AF airports) with regular 2x / day RAOB, land-based RADAR, international cooperative agreements to get same data over Europe, Asia, etc., not to mention oceanographic data, is laughable. Piers Corbyn gets his data from NOAA, UKMET, JMA, ECMWF, etc.

Crowder is stellar. He's one of the great satirists for the conservative movement. However, in this video, he almost advocates that most science is bunk and can't be trusted. The way we understand the weather, nature, and the universe changes almost on a monthly basis. Scientists always change their information/theories because they receive new data constantly, science isn't a grand conspiracy against Jesus, it seems that some conservatives think that way though :/

Since my beliefs are Biblically based that is my measure on those particular issues. In my opinion, the science of human biology backs the Biblical perspective. @whedonfreak976 What, you mean things like MBTs? They're a byproduct of the air-fuel mix combusting. They aren't "green house" gasses. Pollutants, in the strictest sense of the term, but the toxicity is in the dose as it were. I'll tolerate a whole lot of shit in my air in exchange for things like cars and airplanes. They also aren't bonded to CO2. Because then it wouldn't be CO2 anymore.
God, spare me from the scientifically illiterate. I'm looking forward to the coming civil war.

@whedonfreak976 You were talking about CO2. There is no such thing as good or bad CO2. CO2 can be toxic in certain concentrations but to get those concentrations you literally have to have a sealed area and pump CO2 into it. You eliminate CO2 and the plants would die and we would die in turn...

@whedonfreak976 although i am not one of these rejects that believes global warming is communist disinformation and a worldwide academic fraud, i would like to point out that these commenters are correct in telling you that there is no such thing as natural CO2 vs. toxic CO2. CO2, carbon dioxide, is a molecule of one atom carbon with two atoms oxygen. that's it. it doesn't matter whether it's made by a fish in a river or a man in a laboratory - it's the exact same. (cont.) the problem is not that it is toxic, but that it absorbs the sun's energy at a substantially higher rate than the most other molecules in the atmosphere. and thus, increasing it's relative proportion in the atmospheric mixture will increase the rate at which the atmosphere absorbs energy and thus warm it up. at least initially, complex feedback effects could reverse this process over the long term, although it is more likely that feedback effects will actually accelerate it.

NOAA does science that keeps the world rotating. I don't expect simple High School Grads to understand the complexities involved. Even a well educated Folks have problems grasping the complex math used in predicting the future. In fact there are only a handful of people at NOAA that understand what's involved in getting these numbers. If the science behind this math ever got out it would mean WW3.

@StevenCrowder I normally enjoy all of your videos (especially the ones involving celebrity impersonations), but this one I respectfully disagree on. NOAA is an example of a benevolent government agency that operates off a fraction of a penny on the federal tax dollar. No NOAA, no data (including LEO and GEO satellites). And no data, no forecasts.
As far as climate predictions go, climate does, in fact, "change," and not w / o significant human repercussions.

Maybe they can't predict hurricanes or any other weather pattern for that matter, weeks in advance, but they are great at predicting the weather 24 hours in advance. I love to sail, so I benefit greatly from it's weather charts. I find that more often then not, they are pretty spot on. This video almost seems like a liberal parody of conservative propaganda. Since I know better; in that regard, it was very odd, but I still enjoyed it, lol.

I am actually a big fan of Crowder -- I've circulated many of his videos. Loved some of the older ones. Very intelligent and mature guy, if you ask me (not a given for guys in their 20s these days). But this one I disagree with. Even if the point is well taken on the accuracy of "hurricane season forecasts," NOAA is the basis behind ALL civilian forecasts.

The Only forecaster on earth that consistently beats the odds and gets it right is Piers Corbyn... not NOAA, not the MET or Hadley, No one else comes close. Also interesting is that Governments and business's like Insurance, Oil and Shipping Companies pay him for his forecasts...because they Are accurate while the predictions from NOAA and Hadley are worthless.
Btw...Piers Corbyn sez AGW is a joke...and he demonstratively knows more about the weather than NOAA and the rest combined.

@Bravo21 Any forecaster located in the USA gets their "forecast" based upon NOAA data. NOAA provides ALL the meteorological and oceanographic data. No NOAA, no forecasts. Period.

The notion that a "private company" has their own privatized set of GLOBAL environmental data, including GEO and LEO satellite constellations, global upper-air weather stations (in the USA, mostly located at civilian and AF airports) with regular 2x / day RAOB, land-based RADAR, international cooperative agreements to get same data over Europe, Asia, etc., not to mention oceanographic data, is laughable. Piers Corbyn gets his data from NOAA, UKMET, JMA, ECMWF, etc.
