I have a controversial theory in the works about Tommy. Here goes. I've noticed every incarnation of him is less popular than the last. He was far more popular as green than white. More popular as white than red zeo. And certainly more popular as red zeo than red turbo. Not to mention when he returned as DT Black. So here's my theory: Maybe people just loved the Green ranger and not, neccessarily, Tommy. Tommy's alright and all, I just think people may be blinded by Dragonzord.

jason was the leader but he couldnt control tommy. they where equals, so they where more like co captains and tommy respected that jason was in control before he came but as we have all seen tommy can take it to him if provoked. neither one is better than the other to me. they both got strenghts and flaws the other dosent, plus they both kick ass!! lifelegend said it best jason best leader, tommy best loner

Wrong. He was severely depowered and depending on Zardon's recharges at the time, due to the fact that Rita Repulsa depowered him with the green candle.
He passed the Dragon Shield not because he wasn't able to win by himself, but because he had not enough power left. Jason is still badass, anyway.

Yea Jason was the First Leader now doubt he was the best! Green Ranger took most of his roll alone, he did things by himself! Red was a better leader......BUT Tommy went White later on then he became the leader of the rangers by Zardon anyway! No offense to Jason he was GREAT but Tommy was around for the longest too!

wrong. the writers even said years later they wrote the script wrong. ye they made tommy leader but in reailty jason was still in command until the actor austin st john had to leave. watch the last episode with austin st john which i think is the one after white light and he is still in command and leads them into the morphing sequence even with tommy there as the white ranger. in the mmpr jason was always the leader until the actor who played him left.
