Its an Bell OH-58 with a modified foward canopy. The combat load is probably lighter than the OH-58's due to the weight of the modification. The increased weight is also going to make the OH-58's problems with tail rotor authority worse.

I don't know if this will be a very good chopper like the AH-1W. Even the old 1960's UH-1 can fire unguided rockets but today you need to fire at longer ranges far more away then the shoulder mounted SAM's can reach. I guess the AH-1W is much better with it's 6-8km Hellfire missiles and advanced onboard electronics.

Your putting quantity above quality though. This is a misguided concept. As an example...in 1982, just 20 UK Sea Harriers walked all over an Argie force consisting of over 300 aircraft. The Argie jets were superior in the sense that they were super sonic too but thanks to the sidewinder missile....not a single Harrier was downed in air to air comabt. We only lost 2 due to SAMS where as Argentina lost over 70 aircraft.

Its an Bell OH-58 with a modified foward canopy. The combat load is probably lighter than the OH-58's due to the weight of the modification. The increased weight is also going to make the OH-58's problems with tail rotor authority worse.
Why is Iran trying to impress everyone with these cobbled together systems? I'm sure Iranian engineers could mount a cannon on a kids bike, but its not going to scare someone who knows the difference.

A single seat light weight helicopter with no visible indications of any electronic integration. Armor is non existent and firepower is minimal with 70mm fin-less rockets and one man portable machine-gun.
The most effective countermeasure for this weapon would be a mounted machine gun (most likely the M2) or any squad machine gun. The Apache may cost twice as much, but at least take 23mm aa rounds.

I don't know if this will be a very good chopper like the AH-1W. Even the old 1960's UH-1 can fire unguided rockets but today you need to fire at longer ranges far more away then the shoulder mounted SAM's can reach. I guess the AH-1W is much better with it's 6-8km Hellfire missiles and advanced onboard electronics.

The new camel piss squirter gun was fitted to some models but the Muslim crews were drinking the ammunition during tests so it had to be removed. @EagleMarine2012 Simple.. you didn't beat them technologically.. not at all :) When the US landed in France, Germany had already been fighting for 5 years against a multitude of nations, 3/4th of their armies were stationed on the eastern front, and although German tech was superior, the US and Soviet tanks were present in greater numbers and were much easier to produce and maintain, your troops were fresh, your fighters heavily armored,... etc :)

Your putting quantity above quality though. This is a misguided concept. As an example...in 1982, just 20 UK Sea Harriers walked all over an Argie force consisting of over 300 aircraft. The Argie jets were superior in the sense that they were super sonic too but thanks to the sidewinder missile....not a single Harrier was downed in air to air comabt. We only lost 2 due to SAMS where as Argentina lost over 70 aircraft.
