All humans are human. Not neanderthal at all. They account for trace DNA in about 3% of people.
Whites, blacks, Asians, and everyone else look different because of cultural divides and you will be amazed at how quickly race will outright vanish in a more inter-connected world.
I wonder how are we going to adapt and survive during the next ice age ? cause an ice age occurs after a global warming... I don't think technology will help much when it's extremely cold outside..
This is really what makes me wonder why there are different body types of homosapians even when people are in regions of the same climate to designate the body type.
Since modern humans have about 1-4% Neanderthal DNA, does that mean that people with Gary's physique have a larger percentage of the Neanderthal DNA than people of Will's physique?
First. Eweryone knows that fat saves you from the cold. So a fat man takes it better than one slim. Second. Why is it then that svedish people for example are tall and slim, while greek people for example are thick and short?
I'm not willing to take for granted that the only difference between these two fellows was a difference in stature, let alone between neanderthal and ancient humans.
I was just saying that these umm... scientists are kinda being silly to take a modern ectomorh type body as a representation of an ancient erectus and a modern endomorh as representative of a neanderthal. Fancy equipment and computers does not automatically equal science. But your mention of Inuits, of people who continue to live in ice age like conditions is valid. Too bad these "scientists" didn't think of that!
The regulatory system of the Neanderthal could have been far more efficient. This experiment just shows the diff between someone with muscle and fat against someone skinny. The result is obvious. This is QUACK science.
Interesting, but is highly inacccurate, as it is ambiguous as to whether the the 'more neanderthal' physique is actually like that if a an ancient neanderthal...
Too cold to talk and ruined voice box.

At no point did this explain how Gary retained more heat...

just go look at the people in mountains, they are short and robust.. this experiment is redundant...

This experiment is skewed... They told them the purpose of the experiment before it started.

anyone else notice the bizarrely asymmetrical nature of Wills neck?

@Mrquinton7: He is half Kardasian, which throws a loop in the whole study.

Well, we humans who lived along side Neanderthals could have been efficient at storing body heat like the Inuits of Alaska.

OK, but the experiment did show physics, in that one shape stores more heat than another shape.
