The arab jurists (e.g. Ibn Hazm) never found nothing wrong with music. The persian jurists though generally did!
Kitab Al-Aghani in some 20 volumes (The compendium of songs) was written by scholar from Iran Abul-faraj al-asfahani (a Qureishi Ummayad Arab from Isfahan/Iran) detailed arab singing/music from the time of jahiliyya up till 200-300 yrs after the prophet (the time of Abulfaraj).

Who is the guy singing with Bon Jovi? The guy singing with Bon Jovi (who starts the song) is not part of their band. I am pretty sure of that.
He does not seem to have an accent when he sings the farsi verse unlike Bon Jovi. Do you know who this guy is?
