Brazilian Jui-Jitsui wasn't made for competitions. Samurai made it to kill when they were disarmed. The winner of this competition still would have won in a fist fight.

Of course, every school can do it differently. No JJ federation has strict rules for belt coloring because only the rank is important (9th kyu, 4th dan, etc.). However, be wary of any dojo who uses tons of belts for JJ (more than 6 before black) because that is usually a ploy to get extra test money.

In the Us you have to be 18 to join fight teams, but you can join MMA schools and train until you are 18, or just train, fighting is optional.

ok first of all not much info u can give so dont try to act cocky, it was a knee bar and he locked it in, an ankle lock is a totally different hold and it does hurt the ankle not the knee. frank mir put brock in a knee bar and someone else in an ankle lock. theyre different.

It obviously depends on the fucking ankle lock ur goin for u ignorant idiot. most of the ankle locks consist of a turning twisting motion which has a greater affect on the knee than the ankle its self. Come by my gym and ill show ur dumb ass exactly what im talking about. oh and be sure to watch RFC, FEB. 26. so that maby u can get an idea of what real fighters can do on the ground.

@MaTTiiE48 Red belt actually is after Black in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and signifies a grand master who (can) wear both a red and black belt together. Red belt is before black in *Japanese* Jiu Jitsu. Of course, every school can do it differently. No JJ federation has strict rules for belt coloring because only the rank is important (9th kyu, 4th dan, etc.). However, be wary of any dojo who uses tons of belts for JJ (more than 6 before black) because that is usually a ploy to get extra test money.

@jamal you should find a gym in your local area.. some places have amatuer fights as young as 16. look arounf see what gyms are available where you live. Think of taking up a martial art you are particularly fond of and try and sharpen your skills in that area.
