  • That guitar Porter had was a cannon boy.

  • @TheRebel183 It was made by the Grammer Guitar Company, which was run by guitarist Billy Grammer. At one time Porter and Dolly had Grammer guitars, with Dolly's being smaller than Porter's.

  • WOW, that's all I can say.

  • It always cracks me up when they crack themselves up! Hee! Thanks for the upload!

  • I LOVE DOLLY PARTON xx<3

  • my first music as a kid, still the best!

  • Buck Trent one of the best pickers!!

  • thnx for these wonderful songs/vids!!! thanks

  • Pure unadulterated Country Music sounds exactly like a duet between Porter and Dolly, nothing more nothing less !

  • So Sassy!

  • I understand George Lucas has obtained the rights to all of the old PW shows. Newly restored digital transfers to DVD with THX sound will be available in 2010. However, some purists are alarmed at Lucasfilm's inclusion of Keith Urban and Mylie Cyrus in every shot.

  • listen to Buck Trent play the guitar!!!

  • m favorite song

  • love it! I wish today's country music was like this.

  • The reason it's not is because it's not country music.

  • I listen to old country versus new country trying to figure out the difference, because I was hearing it somewhere. Finally figured out that old country didn't have a lot of loud percussion. Drums in old country were always minimal and low volume; of course, the rhythm was in the guitars, so no need for heavy percussion. Today's country usually has someone beating a snare drum far too loudly. That's one of the differences between then and now.

    Then there's the songwriting ....

  • also the players are coming from the classic styles of music (blues, country , jazz, big band, etc.) today's shit is very bad pop.the early ones lived that simple life. now, people think they can just call it country when it's not.dwight yoakum is the closest to real country out there. they don't acknowledge people like him because it doesn't fit the crowd that they want to sell toon the radio.hell, you can hear an elephant fart over & over & pretty soon it's stuck in your head too.makes me sick

  • Yes, Dwight is good. He's somewhere between country and rockabilly, at least to my ear. Also (though you might not like their opinions), the Dixie Chicks sound at least in the same ballpark with old-style country. I'm from upstate New York, and when I was a kid, we never NEVER missed "Hee-Haw". Three generations, grandparents, parents and us kids, all watching 'Hee-Haw". Boy, those were good times.

  • Gene Watson is real country.Check out his new video with Rhonda VincentThe name of it is,Staying Together.

  • great - thanks for that

  • this is a funny song ha ha

  • its a shame that there will most likley be nothing like this on television ever again.

  • Amen. The unique and charming thing about the PW show was its unrehersed spontanaity. If they made misakes or forgot the words, they just laughed, moved on, and left them in. Nowadays, everything has to be letter-perfect,

  • Fantastic! Thanks for sharing.

  • thanks for the upload :)

  • Brilliant! Thanks for the upload!
