Practice, u should get better.

Some tips,

1. accelerate and gain speed before the hill or incline (If a small hill), so u slow down towards top and have time to turn or change your direction of travel.

2. Always have ur index finger and middle finger on the clutch.

3. A trials bike will Very rarely go over, if that happens again, I suggest u let go as I wants to and lean back, letting the engine do all the work, the bike will go over any minor bumps.

Try and have a quick sniff of said dock leaves before rubbing them around your person to avoid contact with cat/dog/fox piss :)

Haha, I did exactly the same on a pushbike the other day. The GF went for a run & I followed on my pushbike. She jumped over a ditch, I didnt have enough speed to jump it, so I tried to ride down it & up the other side, but it was too steep, & I went over the bars at the bottom & faceplanted into nettles!

As for dock leaves, I break the stem & squeeze the juice out... if it is placebo, it works for me ;p

its a neutralization process, nettles contain a strong acid, and dock leaves contain a strong alkali, when acids and alkalies mix they turn into water, not only that but, dock leaves always grow where there are nettles now thats impressive.

actually my dad used to tell me stuff like this, they indeed work against the sting and even make the "spots" go away faster, and the stuff ( i dont knowe the name iether :P ) wich you rub on it grows in a 5 meter radius for about 90 % all the nettles.

We have nettles on the west coast of Canada but they don't seem to be as potent as the English ones. I have yet to see a dock leaf though.

small tip, roll up a few dock leafs and 'break' then on the middle, so the juices flow, and rub the juice on, much more effective and much more comforteble to rub on ;)

The best way to use doc leaves is to actually get a bunch of them, crush them up in your hands and use the liquidy juice that comes out like a balm to rub on the stung area.

Eeeeeeeeeeeek, stinging nettles!!!!! Thumbs up for pain..... Broad or curled leaved "dock" plants grow in the same habitat as nettles and so conveniently, if you ever get stung, you can usually always find a dock leave near by to rub furiously on the affected area, I have never seen any here in Spain tho.. must be a UK habitat thing... Nice to see you riding again!

Dock leaves do work! But not in the way! They need to be crushed to get the juices out and lightly dabbed on the sting! Rubbing will just make it worse! They are nearly always found with in a few meters of a nettle patch! The reason it works for some is just trying to find them takes their mind off the sting. It only lasts a few mins anyway! Glad your ok that sounded painful! Keep it shiny side up, rubber side down!

its a placebo, there is no scientific evidence that shows that dock leaves help against the sting of a stinging nettle :P its just an old remedy that has been passed down through history without thinking about weather it actually is having an effect. sorry :( i always used dock leaves before i found this out :/
