  • i love these guys! but it makes john smith look like a douch bag tho XD

  • Phew, here I thought I was the only one! I know that pair doesn't get too much love, but it definitely deserves more. I didn't really like how they downplayed the relationship between John Smith and Pocahontas, but it's still a decent film, with a much better pairing IMO.

  • @dragonsrose15

I just wish they would of played the part with John Smith better. They could of still kept his awesome in the second movie if they had tried to make it so.

  • @poptartdom I haven't seen any... yet!!! I'm gonna look some up later:)

  • i LOVE john rolf and pocahontas!! they are my favorite.. :)

  • @raynerosier do u like john rolfe x pocahontas fan art?

  • I know it's more than a decade overdue, but the John Rolfe fandom on deviantart has recently grown considerably. A new movement in favor of the sequel might arise. Wouldn't it be awesome if Disney picked up on this and did a Pocahontas tv series like the Aladdin one? That would be so awesome... >.<

  • I totally agree with you!! I love John Rolfe!

  • @HPRWHGareawesome Do you like to look at fan art? I've been making a lot of Pocahontas x John Rolfe fan art on deviantart as of late...

  • Oh you are SO not alone, I ADORE John Rolfe <3 I think he's the sweetest thing ever, and you explained their relationship perfectly! And this video is beautiful! :D

  • @iristuesdays6091 Me, too! I love him because he's a real gentleman. :-)

  • @Hedgehogpaw He IS a gentleman! :) I mean, yeah I guess John Smith was cool and "dashing" and stuff, but even in the first movie I thought he was kind of a jerk (No offence to John Smith fans!). It's exactly how EveIsTheApple said: Rolfe completely understood Pocahontas and wasn't going to stand in her way of what she wanted to do. He completely supported her. I think that, plus his good manners, plus his handsomeness, plus his awesome maid/nanny person, is what totally won me over ;P Lol

  • @iristuesdays6091 Me, too. I mean the part when Pocahontas asked him: "John, how do I look?" and he answered to her: "Lovely ... in your ... underwaer!" was absolutely adorable. :-)

  • @Hedgehogpaw LOL that was SO cute XD And then Mrs. Jenkins (yes! I remember her name!) comes to the rescue. Hehe

"I'll put on a spot of tea!"

  • @iristuesdays6091 Yes, I can remember that woman who have always forgotten to put on her glasses. Yeah, she was really nice, actually. :-)

  • @Hedgehogpaw Yeah she was awesome! I loved ALL of the "sidekicks" in this movie :D

  • I prefer john, but this really opened my eyes. I love it!

  • This song is so sweet! I honestly don't have much of an opinion of Rolfe vs. Smith other than they're both John makes me giggle :3 But both are technically cannon (to me anyway,) so I'm cool with both ^^ Gahh. As soon as I saw clips from the first film I lost it! This is so cuuuuuute TT^TT *sniff* I don't really care about either of the Johns now that I think about it (I do think the triangle is bittersweet.) The editing was fantastic & the colors were beautiful! A wonderful video <3

  • Loved this! So sweet and adorable and the song was so perfect. Well, I've only seen the second movie once so I can't really form an appropriate opinion as to who I like best, haha! I like Smith and Rolfe pretty equally I guess.

  • amazing job! I love this movie! I actually like them both. :)

  • I agree completely! It's just that people have become used to having Disney provide happy endings for all and usually, when a girl meets a guy, she sticks with him for the rest of her life. Happily ever after. It's the realness in this storyline that I like :) Oh and your editing was great ;) Spam away, my dear!

  • For once, I can't say I agree with you. Like...at all! :O

Disney is like, my life, but I'll admit - they can fall down on the sequels and I think this movie is a capital example! I don't dislike the pairing/disagree with you on the; who she fell in love with' stuff (although, tbh, I don't think a Disney movie is an accurate portrayal of the parties concerned so Disney could choose to have Pocahontas fall in love with WHOEVER and it would be canon)

  • @lookinglass123 but the reason I can't ship them is that this film - LETTTTTTT DOWN. Rolfe was sweet, they were cute together. But mehhhhh. Your vidding however, is quite the opposite. Totally epic :D

  • @lookinglass123 ...nothing was really ruined to me, and quite the opposite, I just felt more watching the sequel. Might also have something to do with my automatic inclination to support the underdog, but I just felt John Rolfe was massively underappreciated, which led me to care about him probably more than I ever would if other people had liked him, if that makes sense...

  • @EveIsTheApple I don't think anything was ruined.... Its just a film that I was excited about that I thought ended up kind of sucking. I know what you mean about supporting the underdog, had I been in touch with people's Disney reactions, I might have felt the same way. P.S, P.S are you going to enter MSC - it's only 20 seconds! ?

  • @lookinglass123 Hmmm, well I don't know, I've seen lot's of MSC around but I honestly have no idea who's running it and what it really is :/

  • @lookinglass123 Haha, well that's fair enough, I think most people disagree with me anyway, but mostly for John Smith fangirl reasons. And actually I completely agree about sequels, there are only two or three that I actually like and think add to the original story, but where we differ is that for me this is one of those. Probably because the 1st one cam out the year I was born, so I didn't really form an attachment to it before seeing this one, and it was never my favourite anyway so...

  • AHHHHH ALICE! :D YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I AM GRINNING RIGHT NOW; the john rolfe fangirl in me is literally SCREAMING; and as one of the few rolfe fangirls out there it is SO lovely to see him and pocahontas get some love, because they are amazing - but you are definitely not alone in preferring him, i always have since pocahontas 2 came out, since i was never much of a fan of john smith myself (although he redeemed himself slightly in the 2nd film. :P) BUT THIS VIDEO AND SONG IS PERFECT...

  • FOR THEM! :D i just can't believe i didn't think of this song, but it works so well - because really she does need someone to be good to her, and that is the very personification of rolfe, he's gentlemanly and loyal and just GOOD. :D and this song fit them both perfectly. <3 as usual though, your editing is flawless - and a disney spam from you sounds wonderful! :P <3 i really like the transitions you put at the beginning, where it was sort of brighter on the soft piano note, that was so...

  • subtle and lovely, and just a fantastic way to start this off - as is your clip choice, you match the lyrics perfectly! :D the editing here is reasonably simple but it fits the song, and i'm so glad you didn't let the fact that its overused stop you from using it because it is just so lovely, and fits them to a T - especially the line "i still don't measure up." because i think a lot of times rolfe didn't feel he was good enough....

  • for pocahontas, especially in comparison to smith. :D BUT HE SO IS! and your use of john smith in the video was so lovely as well, you really highlighted both the differences and similarities between the two relationships, and as you say, how john rolfe would never have stood in the way of pocahontas, even if it had meant her choosing someone else. :) and you just showed so well how beautiful and pure and happy they make each other, and I LOVE THIS. :D i cannot even properly express how much....

  • i love this, but i really do and just WOW! :D you are so talented hon, and this video is no exception, its just so lovely and romantic and really shows the best side of these two, and how perfect they were for one another in this movie, it's so lovely. :) and i'm glad to find another fellow john rolfe fangirl! :P *high fives* amazing video alice. :D <333

  • @whiimsy :D :D I did not know you were a Rolfe fangirl! I was so happy when I saw that, you being the biggest Disney fan I know (and by far the best commenter ;D ) And everything you said about the pairing is bang on in my opinion, John Rolfe was entirely the decent gentleman that she needed (not that he was entirely perfect, because had he been so I could probably never have supported him). And I totally felt a lot of the time that he felt he wasn't good enough for her, almost like the...

  • @whiimsy ...feelings of the fans were projected into the story. The character had a fight to prove himself against an unknown figure he never knew, who was so much more... obviously heroic than he was, since he was so reserved and well-mannered, but for me he totally proved himself as worthy, in fact more worthy, than Smith, because he didn't stand in her way when she risked her life to save her people, because he understood her and knew it was not his place to stop her, it was perfect!

  • This was so wonderful, perfect timing and clip choices and everything! Your little rant just about summed it all up perfectly. I have always preferred Rolfe to Smith, at least with Pocahontas. And I think Pocahontas says something to Smith along the lines of "We walked the same path once" and that's what they're relationship was. It was beautiful, but it could never last, because in the end they wanted different things of life. :)

  • @Thesilentforce I couldn't have put it better myself, and I love that in reality, nobody needs to pick a side entirely, because you don't have to dislike one to like the other, Disney portrayed perfectly that John Smith and Pocahontas knew they didn't belong together, hence her "we walked the same path once" speech.

  • awwww so beautiful sooo sweet awww :-)

  • @VicsVlogCandy Thankyou, I'm so glad you think so ;D

  • YES!!! I felt as if I was the only one who prefered Rolfe as well!!! <3 So nice to know I'm not an outsider, haha! :D Rolfe was so much more gentleman-ly than Smith in the sequel. I liked John in the first, but I just got to say, Rolfe turned out to be much more nicer and handsome, LOL. Smith was just "EH" for me, and he just left at the end! Like, "What?!" He totally didn't mind that Pocahontas didn't choose him!! Such a lame man, I tell ya. But YES for this video, I personally loved it! :D

  • @TwilightHostGirl2 Haha, I have to say it is so nice to see I'm not the only one who feels this way :D Personally I didn't mind Smith as a character, I just didn't feel he should end up with Pocahontas so I love the canon :D

  • I've never seen the sequel so I don't know but it's you saying it so I disagree entirely. (Well I guess history agrees with because it's John Rolfe that she married. But you're still wrong.) ...Nice editing.

  • @sandoozles Haha, well thankyou for keeping the balance in order, if you'd agreed with me about something else we might have had a serious problem, especially with you being such a blah person and all.

  • After seeing this, you've totally pulled me over to the side of John Rolfe. ;) I now really love this song too! Thanks, haha. <3

(I was in love with John Smith in the first movie, but after seeing what he really was in the second movie, I prefer Rolfie instead) ;D

  • @InuyashaKagome200 Thankyou so much, I can't tell you how much it made me smile to see I'd helped pull someone over to the John Rolfe side :D
