@BorkaBonum I use white lithium grease for gears which is the best I've found to work for ages. But you are right, you shouldn't use silicone spray for gears. I use silicone oil for air seals and similar..maybe people who see that part will copy then get their gear boxes to jam then pay for repair work...
@BorkaBonum personally i only use it for my propain(I'm sure thats not spelled correctly) and again this me personally I havent found much gearbox grease that is readily avalible
Good video, helped me a lot with reassembly of that goddamn trigger-selector-safety mechanism. But it would be good if you did it a little slower and shown more on camera, there were a lot of fingers moving and i had to replay some parts a few times to see the correct positioning of some parts...but it was success in the end, so thanks :-))
Dont lose that spring and ball or else your gun will break and your wife will cheat on you and you'll lose your job and your car will get stolen and your house will burn and your parents will die. Long story short your life will be ruined.
I'm doing a spring upgrade on my G&G m14 and its kicking my but and doesn't want to let me close the cover. also, is the piston gears supposed to be really worn down after 125,000 rounds or so?
what exact gun is in the exit photo part of the video. im wondering because i think i just bought one from somebody for 10 bux, the gearbox was seized up and he didnt know how to fix it. he said he thought it was a ca m14 scout
and i thought version 2's were annoying but this is uber complicated! if i take apart a M14 i better make sure it's the first and last time, too many parts on this thing
ever see a l85 gearbox. it has upper and lower gear boxes. the piston is from a sr-10 and the gears are from 3 diff versions of gearboxes. it always has a precocked piston like the psg1, and has a lever that hangs off the gearbox in the magwell to release the piston when your done playing to take the tension off the spring.
just thought about buying a CA m14 boneyard and replace piston, motor, spring. fuck that.

Why do Americans keep using silicone spray?
It's absolutely rubbish.
