I just came across you video. I have Crohn's. My GI doctor started me on 6-MP. I was still in so much pain and nauseous that he put me on prednisone also, until the 6-MP gets into my system (he told me 2 months). I've been on prednisone, pantesa, and another drug that I can't remember the name. He's trying to avoid surgery. But like u said, I just get sick and tired of being sick and tired. I really am hoping the 6-MP works for me, but if not, at least I know my options.
I just started searching videos looking for people that might be going through what I am and came across your videos. I have been sitting here amazed that everything you have been dealing with (minus the college) is exactly what I am going through!
and drink lots of water this is what I did and I'm doing pretty good, I'm also taking balsalazide genaric for colazal....My messages are backwards, lol the first one I made is the start this is the end.:)
OH and pregnancy is very bad for people with uc the hormone hch( it think it's the hch) causes major flare ups, that same hormone is in birth control so if you are taking birth control I wouldnt take it for a while and see what happens.. I know it was a night and day difference for me. Another thing is I know this is crazy but fruits and veggies make my ulcers crazy, try not eating them for a week. see what happens. take vitamins liquid vitamins are better.
I'm sorry:( Ok I will give you some advise!everyone is different but this is what worked for me.. I thought If I ate healthy it might cure my uc but omg I felt like I was going through hell.. I was losing tons of blood and all of the above I had to have transfusions and I was also pregnant during this time..
I basically at the same spot you are in life as far as the illness goes. I have Crohn's and am at the point of surgery. All I can say is,, do what you feel is right for you. It's you that has tp live with this.If you feel surgery is the best option for you then surgery it is.
Hang there girl I kno how you feel. Finally diagnosed after 2 flares w/in 2 years. Doctors not knowing what it was or suggesting UC Did my own research & knew I had it & demanded a diagnosis. Colonoscopy Mar 07 & yes I have UC Pancolitis. In 3rd flare been over 1 yr. Currently on Colozal & Prednisone. Slowly getting better. We are young & the advances in health come everyday. I pray you find something that helps keep in mind surgery is irreversible. I am hangin in there with you!
I'm glad some medicinal therapies worked for you, I wish they had for me. The surgery is irreversible, yes, but having my life back was more important to me.
i was diagnosed 10 years ago with uc. the symptoms made it difficult to work for awhile, and i racked up some serious bills. not working did allow me to graduate from college. at the time it was scary, but i'm glad i did it that way. i used to think i had to be debt free by 25, but that didn't happen. still paying off a student loan at 35 and i couldn't be happier.
hey love. Im 21 and i got diagnosed with uc a year ago, since that time ive been through alot as we all have. I loved the sentance "sick and tired of being sick and tired" that is exactly hove i feel when im alone in bed, with nobody to call, and my gut roaring at me. U should get sergary dear, i will soon. Its sounds like a better option for u if u like stereoids are making things more complicated.
I have just recently (within the last year) figured out my health comes first. I won't ever get anywhere unless I focus on my health....thank you so much for your comment!
gastro and cancer doc are very mechnical, But this is how they are trained, when you get a chance get a doc or nurse a hug. Ive know hopelessness dispear and I have those thoughts of giving in. I sure we all well, they will past, I find Meditation can really help. I'm reading a book called PEACE LOVE & HEALING-cancer patients have the same problems with their Docs it is a good book to help with choices. I will be getting another book called the TAO OF BREATHING.LET YOUR EMOTION OUT ON U=TUBE JD
I posted on your other video as well, but again, I live in columbia Missouri, supposed to start Masters in public health at Mizzou this Fall. Due to my illness, I'm waiting another year. My advice, don't listen to your mom. My mom drove me insane trying to get me to drink stuff for IBS no matter how much I tried to tell her I have IBD not IBS, the two are not related! Anyway, I hope your doing better. I have been on prednisone for a year, gained 45 pounds, I understand.
Your mom is very naïve and needs to learn that your diet has nothing to do with ulcerative colitis. Sometimes modifying your diet in ulcerative colitis will change your symptoms but it will do absolutely nothing to bring down inflammation in your colon. Don't be afraid of the surgery it's an awesome option, and once you have the j-pouch you'll be back to normal. Message me for me details and support.
I know exactly how you feel, I'm in university and can relate to explaing how sick you are to your professors. I had the surgery earlier in the year and I wish I would have had it done from day one. It was the best decision I ever made. Once it's done your cured and you do not have to worry about getting sick or taking horrible medication. Humira uses the same mechanism as Remicade, so if you fail remicade chances are you probably will fail Humira. (2nd comment......)

if you can minimize your hours work and get time for good diet it can be a solution.
If you need to work 40hours to pay your bills there are no many options.
I think work is affecting your diet and you look very stressed.
I wish you the best.Sometimes we have to sacrifice our lifestyle for health.
