Blender is cooler than maya, much lighter in your Hard Disk (15mb) AND IT'S FREE!!!

And of course, a loooot easier than Maya... I've been using both of them, and Blender is a lot more easier for both modeling and animating... The advantages of Maya are the "brushes", the built-in plugins and some render stuff... But I think blender is much more worth...

yes. render the image, i assume you know how, then go to file, save rendered image. pick where to save it. if you want a different format, change the settings in the render tab to whatever picture format you choose.

Hey if I splite the views how can I change it to a front view and a side view?

make sure that both views are using the 3d view and the just set them as front view (numpad 1) and side view (numpad 3). the 3d view choice is at the bottom left of the window.
