The opening of the story has an extrodinary lack of relevance apart from the woman. RTD should've just shown us the dream or something. Just a thought. Most of part 1 is sort of messy. Part 2 saves the story.

@7heAre7s Personally I would completely disagree, on so many levels, but on a story telling level they can't really be compared, the point of a Christmas Carol was to give us a heart warming and life affirming celebration of Doctor Who and christmas, outside the story arc of regular Doctor Who, because it's appealing to a bigger audience, meaning the small issues with it can be over looked as it's mainly a celebration episode, however this story was supposed to be telling the story of the series

@Timelord6661 ....as if it is an ordinary episode with a Christmas setting, so the illogical nonsense, stupid plot holes and general pointlessness of the majority of the story are far worse and much more inexcusable and show damaging than A Christmas Carol, they eternally destroyed the master, more so than previously, destroyed the main idea of regeneration, and wrote Tennant's last words and attitude to it in a way that ultimately turned the obsessed Tennant fan girls away from the series.

@Timelord6661 Since "A Christmas Carol" was in-fact something totally separate, I won't go into it. I guess having a cheery silly episode is nice every now and then. However, as someone who has watched through the story lines of past doctors, I have found the stories progressively 'stupid' in some cases. Such examples include some of these 09 specials. Perhaps I need some adjustment time, like with the past doctors. I can go into more depth on things if you want.

Okay, but to be honest, I really think that Moffat has been producing far more clever and inventive scripts than RTD has, and to be honest, that to me is very much the essence of the show, and something seen in many stories with the classic Doctors I really hated the previous specials and could list many reason why too, I mean Voyage of the Damned was especially bad, it was just an unoriginal Robots of Death rip off that lacked any logical story telling or sense...
