my wife who's Japanese and has a job at one of the major car companies here in Japan works on average 12-14 hr days. Basically you come to work and go home anytime you want but as long as your work is finished. But she gets paid 2x, 3x, for overtime. And sometimes after working 13 hours they expect you to go out to a company dinner and drink until 1-2am. :O

Haha that was funny when he said it. Onto the topic it's the same with my parents. I'm Italian and if i marry a Japanese girl they will feel annoyed or a little bit of disgrace to the family name (except my mother). My relatives will also think "WTF is he doing?!" but when I meet them with my future JP wife they will act like "Hello! Nice to meet you !!" ect... (Typical bullshit). But hey I really don't give a fuck what my parent's think, it's my life and I get to do what I want, when I want.

when i worked for a chinese guy i used to work 2 hours overtime every day without pay but when i was repeatedly refused a pay rise (from minimum wage LOL) i quit. the only thing i miss from there is all the chinese food and snacks
