On a sad note,,his pretty co star Judy Tyler was killed in July 1957 in a car crash (I believe in Montana) and was only 24. She had just completed this and an episode of Perry Mason (aired in December 1957) A life tragically cut short.
@GiminiReeM personally I think his best was in King Creole, then Jailhouse Rock and a few others like Flaming Star... but yeah, JR is good period... pity not alot of people know the movie today
Written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. Elvis recorded it April 30, 1957 at Radio Recorders. It was featured inhis 1957 film, Jailhouse Rock. It is available on Elvis: The Other Sides-Worldwide Gold Award Hits, Elvis Songs from the Movies, Jailhouse Rock/Love Me Tender soundtrack compilation, Artist of the Century, Out in Hollywood, and The King of Rock n Roll-The Complete 50s Masters
This is such a very exciting, fabulous and underrated song. I never ever heard this song on the radio at any point. Unfortunately, music from the 1950's and before is no longer played on free radio. The 1950's will always be my most favorite era of music and entertainment because that's when Elvis started out in each of those industries. I loved this video a whole lot, 10 Stars as always Jackie.
Is it true that it was Elvis who played the bass intro ?
