@NodrogTrax I never said there is no distinction between the two! There are abundant distinctions. I understand exactly what you mean, & I posit that you're a pompous douchebag who thinks he's smarter than everyone. Smart people can enjoy commercial fluff in regards to art just the same as a chef with a sophisticated palate can enjoy In N Out burger or a candy bar. @NodrogTrax i actually agree with you emphatically. i was narrowing it down to the most specific of the reasons. i think we could all probably right a book on the conflict... and EDIT: i don't mean to imply there is a comedic community vs non comedic community within the audience. i was talking specifically about how the professional stand up comedians seem to view Dane Cook vs Louie. I've often heard him referred to by greats as a "comic's comic." i myself, not a comic, not even a critic : P
