a little late for this since you probably forgot about this but my 154 doesn't stay started. It'll start til it gets to 60N1 but then Betty (i call all speaking computers in planes this cause of Lock-on) says something in Russian and cuts the fuel. I've tried EVERY switch in the cockpit at least 6 times in various combinations but to my dismay i can't read Russian to save my life. can you help?

@19970728 Centre fuel tank needs to be the last fuel tank to drain. ie it must be full unless it's the only tank with fuel in it.

Have you ever tried to use the modeled HBY navigation system? It takes quite a bit more tweaking than the GPS in flight, but its fun to use the system when your flying short or medium hauls in russia. Almost like useing an old school INS computer to fly transatlantic. Also do you use radar contact for ATC? With it you can actually request SIDS and STARS so flying and navigation is much more realistic.

@FlugSimulatorXfan I'd probably uninstall Tu154, then make sure you are updated to FS9.1 (FS2004 and the update patch) then reinstall Tu154M. Make sure it's the M version from the official site fs-proteam dotcom and click on 'products' and then on the Tu154M. It only works in FS2004, not in FSX, just in case that's what you were trying.

I can't step in the GPS to APT +7. I click with left mouse button and right but it doesn't want to step to APT+7 just APT+4. Have you got any updates or something like that?

Replace *'s with dots. (.)

You will need both Base version and Update. Base version isn't entirely the same one that the Tu154M ships with and will replace it. They didn't include it because SIDs will sometimes crash the GPS (to blank screen can't turn on/off till after reboot) but if you put the SIDs in the way I show here it shouldn't go wrong. (only happens if it's set in a different/wrong order)

@musicalaviator Hi me again I have another question is this normal because whenever I land and set flaps 1 some noise appears and I have to put the throttle almost all the way up but then my plane is too fast and powerful how do I avoid that?

@TonyFirelli It's a little russian thing. Gear down first. Flaps out second. What you are getting is the Configuration alarm (Flaps down without gear with thrust in landing configuration)

@musicalaviator So I set gear down then flap 1 and it still does it; it's hard for me because it only stops when gear is down and flaps are in the second (don't remember the degree) so if I set gear down then flaps it makes noise or if do the opposite it will still make noise...

You missed the first step

Hit Ctrl-K to stop default Flight Simulator Joystick parameters so that the Tu154M is not fighting FS for control over the animations. That's Ctrl and the K key on your keyboard at the same time.

Do it every time you start flying the Tu154M and every time you finish.

If you do it when you start the Tu154M and forget at the end, the next plane you fly will have no joystick controls until you hit Ctrl-K again (so no big deal, but can cause undue concern at times)

How to fix your GPS?

Probably not because you installed scenery, no. Also the Gas didn't leak in Flinders Street, Melbourne because Nepolian Bonaparte lost Waterloo.

I'd suggest it's the GPS itself, there's 2 versions, one with SID/STAR support, one without. As APT pages 5 6 and 7 deal with SIDs and STARs, I would suggest you have the version without. See the project tupolev forum protu-154*com / forum for more support. And Tu154 has no autobreak ;)

Autobreaks (computerised, Anti-skid breaks) arn't the same as breaks (big ceramic blocks which when activated come in contact with the wheels and, through friction, slow things down)

Tupolev has Hydraulically activated breaks which are applied via the rudder-pedal mounted break pedals (rotation action instead of sliding)

There is no automatic setting for these breaks however. so you have to press a button (period key, or your rudder pedal breaks if you have them) after touchdown.

i've got a question about the control setup.

i set everything up following the instruction in the manual, but only some of the controls work. the panel shows that the axis are moving (the green/blue panel) but the ailerons/rudder/elevator don't work on the plane. however, the thrust works, and so do the buttons. why aren't the control surfaces working? is it because the plane needs to be started up all the way. i've turned the APU on, etc. i have Tu-154B2 any advice?

As far as i know don't worry about control surfaces go through engine start and systems. Then set Hydraulics,Pa-56,and boosters after that you'll se your control surfaces is working.

I dont know why, but some how I can not configure my rudder to work with my joystick.And also it is impossible for me to get the green light to ruen on (the second spet of engine start-up) wuthout the "Emergency Brake" ON..

Where did he/you get that GPS? I know it is the one installed on real TU-154 but for the Project Tupolev one i dont have it. What i have instead is a kind of oldschool hamster powered INS wich doesnt suits me well so if anyone know where i can get that GPS please let me know it would be great!

I was tired of all those Boeing Airbus etc i wanted something more "exotic" (dont know if it's the exact term to dscribe it but surely do the job)! Last I checked, I spoke English. Infact I can't speak any other languages. So If you think my English is poor, then I'm afraid I can't offer much, as there are no other languages I can pick from. Or do you mean the aircraft lables? They're not much help either. instead of russian over the autopilot system you would get labels like "NVU, VOR, STBTRIM, BumpALT, and GS/LOC"

Fraps and I couldn't point at the screen or zoom in to just the GPS and it'd look the same as all the other videos where you have the whole cockpit sitting there when you are talking about a 2 inch area of the screen.

Great Job by making video althoguh ive learned hoe to start the engine but for the take off seems very hard i try to start climbing and after that i tunerd very hard right i swear i wanst doing that but mabye is because i set up too much pressure but nice thoguht this really helps
