twilight is just a old's woman's wet dream. bella is supposely a blank slate so any girl can copy and paste themselves and make believe they are bella, the author even gave here a flaw of being clumsy, but if she's so plain why on the first day of school, one dozen guys fall in love with her, she has no personality and just accepted that edward was a vampire, no questions asked, twilight is a generic romance with supernatural elements.

Being Human is about a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost living together and trying to live normal lives and restraining their true forms. Again it stays true to the vampire/werewolf mythology.

I strongely recommend the Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead, the Wereling Trilogy by Stephen Cole and the british tv series Being Human. Unlike Twilight, Vampire Academy is a well written teen vampire book, the author creates strong characters, a well-written and realistic (sort-of) romance, includes alot of tension and action and stays true to vampire mythology. Same with The Wereling Trilogy except it's about werewolves.

I'm reading blood and chocolate right now and I agree so far its much more intreresting and well written than Twilight. For one thing the main character has a PERSONALITY and is strong and likable, while bellas just a teenybopper retard, and the backstory behind the werewolves is just really cool and when the author describes them running through the woods at night I can really feel like I'm there. You have good taste in books I must say. ^^

I highly, highly recommend Let The Right One in if you have not seen it. It came out a year before Twilight starring two 12 yr old swedish actors, it's level of emotions, romanticism, and terror pretty much salvaged the genre.

i will now say that i agree or diagree taht these are thing better then twilight, becuase i think the 1st twilight is an ok movie. i never read the book. all 5 Anne rice books are better then twilight. i did not read blood and chocolate. the movie interveiw of the vampire is a million times better then twilight. Never seen lost boys nor the animated films. i am surprised that you did not mention the one vampire movie that twilight is better then, Queen of teh damned. on buffy, the show is bad

Twilight isn't better then Queen of the Damned. Twilight is bad from start ti finish. Queen is good up until the concert.

Yeah and he apears early on in the second season. It's a 8 season show. you made it sound liek spike comes in in one of the last seasons and it sucks until then.

I did read the book. And the movie is nothing like it. But It's still ok until the concert.

after spike appears the show becomes great and stays great, i met that until he first appears the show sucked, thenit got better and stayed better. i never red twilight the book, but i found Quenn of the damn to be utterly unwatchable the only movie worse then that is Transformers 2, alteas twilight is watchable. now i would no recommand either movie to anyone without warning them 1st hand.

That's fine but you said it's a bad show then amended saying it's a bad show until spike gets there. having over a hundered episodes almost 2 and just haveing a bad first 15 episodes does not make ait bad.

I find Twilight only to be watchable to make fun of it. Atleast Queen of the Damned had characters with some demension and people who could actually act. Twilight has a bad plot, bad writing, no characters (unless being a stalker and being obssessed with a stalker are characters),bad acting

i like buffy actually but until spike got there i could not watch it, thats what i met. i do not like making fun of BAD movies and thats what u like about queen, i personally want the writers of the script in queen to DIE, steven townsed knows the part they just wrote it bad, did you see league of extrodiany gentlemen? in that movie he does agreat job but in Queen he kills the entire movie.

Queen of the Damned is not terribel for the first half. Townsend does a terrific job as Lestat (baring the dark hair and the killing netehr of which were his choice)

Leauge was terrible and so was everyone in it.

How do you laugh at bad movies? transformers 2 makes me vomit as does ultra violet, neither of these make me laugh. i never said townsend did a bad job, the writers did. viryousity is denzel washington and russel crowl, in my eyes its crowe at his career best! you really should give it a shot. now i must ask this, how do you rate movies? stunts, acting, story, plot twist, looks. maybe then ill understand you.

Iv'e read Blood & Chocolate, Iv'e seen The Lost Boys, Iv'e seen Interview with the Vampire, all awsome. Iv'e seen my share of Buffy The Vampire Slayer episodes, and read many other books that are of higher levels of reading than Twilight.

There wasn't supposed to be any physical or sexual relationship in Twilight. That's why Stephenie Meyer left it out of the books. The only time Bella & Edward ever slept together was in Breaking Dawn, the very last book, after they were married.

The movie was horrible it is up to date the most inaccurate book adaption movie I've seen. The story in the movie is also very much like "underworld" and thats made even worse because it was by the peaple who made underworld so it's like they can't come up with any new ideas.

I Liked it, i read twilight book 1 and 2 and saw the movie, and the love story in Bram Stoker's work is much stronger and much realistically based on what love would actually be like not just physical attraction and it comes off well in Bram Stoker's Work, Plus even if u dont like the movie you have to admit the acting is completely better, i really see no acting in twilight what so ever

i love twilight very much but for me you didn't hit the spot with the recommendations and also with understanding what i like about it.

first of all what i find in twilight (the movie, don't like the book, read it) is its dream-like atmosphere created by music, editing, cinematography, actors looks (maybe even how they acted) and the whole sensual experience. because of that i find that recommending a book is mostly irrelevant and moody and atmospheric are some of the last things i'd say

I read vampire chronicles after watching Queen of the Damned movie and I liked it a lot it has just right amount of vamp in it clodya part was one of my faves and no glitter in the sun but I droped after book 3 when I watched Twilight I was like its good its good but when I came back I was lie wtf ? that was crape romance with bad vamps its like true blood it look good but in the end it all very simple (true blood is better but you get what im saying)
