this is really cool but i have a question im really new to the computer coloring thing so maybe somebody could tell me why it was colored in blue then the colors were added later what did coloring it first with blue do :3 im confuzzled

I'm not sure, but I think it has to do with seeing where the mistakes are so they can be corrected. Blue is a lot easier to see on white than cream is. And if you have any blue left over when you recolor, you know you have something messed up as well.

Just a guess, though.

Sorry, your answer may have been answered already since this was such an old question, but I'm pretty sure it's the select tool. It's so that she can quickly fill in any colour she wants cleanly into the selected area. It's better than Bucket tool because sometimes the Bucket tool leaves some jagged lines or uncoloured parts etc.
