This film was based on a 1974 novel but it was not a U-Boat but a US Naval submarine which sank in the Pacific but mysteriously reappears after forty years.

loved this film, the boat interior a really great work

control room from a german UBoat?really interested where this interior is located. Maybe the prop uboat in Malta (U-571) was used in this film?

the inside parts were all filmed in rome

it was the same sub that they used in U571

the offices were filmed in leeds and all the scenes outside of the sub was in malta...
