Anyone else noticed that this season was way too slow time line wise (and event wise until the last epi): 'what happened at the walking dead farm between 3:30pm and 4:00pm...' Yet Shane's leg and Carl's injuries seemed to have healed within 2 WD hours??? What I'm trying to say is that sometimes things slow down waaaaayyyy too much. The whole Sofia ordeal and especially the 'nebraska' epi which was such a disappointment after waiting so long. I even had to make myself watch it!

When the rules of civilisation breaks, barely tamed animals like Shane get the upper hand. The only thing he cares is to bang Lori, make Carl to his copy and dominate over everybody. And therefore he would sacrifice everybody including his best friend. Sadly, he is the most realistic character on the show. You always have people like him in such situations. What to do with him? I don´t know. He is a symbol what is wrong with humans. The actor is stellar, I hate this character so much!

@daswenzel But taking him out of the series it will make the series and characters extremely monotone and that will be a great mistake on the behalf of the writers. That his character pisses you off makes you watch the series: you want to know if things will go the way YOU would like them to go. If Shane dies you will be able to pretty much predict what is going to happen. Apart from some deaths they will be playing 'perfect' house at that farm.

@inomia Maybe. But what 2 do with him? He becomes more and more mental. Where shall it lead? Going back to the old days being Ricks best friend? Be4 the last ep I would have agreed that the show became too harmless. But the last ep was pure dynamite and Rick and Herschel (the biggest surprise for me) were great badasses but still show human behaviour. I think they will bring in new characters and conflicts especially with other humans. I think Shanes arc on TWD is over. Rick will kick his ass.

Shane is the type of guy you need in the situation they are in. He may be crazy but he makes sure everyone is in check and takes no bullshit. He was right all along in season 2 about Sophia.
