No, Huey Long was shot by his bodyguards. He got confronted by a Jew, whose father Huey Long was trying to force out of his job by gerrymandering and getting rid of his district. When the said Jew confronted Long, the bodyguards saw Long get hit, so they unloaded on the guy, with Long obviously in the crossfire.

After studying up on this man, I wasn't the least bit surprised that Long was a Baptist. If it weren't for the fact that the Democratic Party declared war on the Bible, the Constitution, sexual normality, and the sanctity of life in the sixties and seventies, we Baptists would have never felt compelled to join the ranks of the bloated, fat-cat Wall Street, Bankster Republicans. Senator Long was the Robin Hood of his times. He took money from the richest people who couldn't spend all their money in their lifetimes. He gave the money to the poor. He built 3,000 miles of roads and 111 bridges in a span of less than 6 years in Louisiana. Long would have defeated FDR in 1936. FDR passed Huey's plans through congress like they were his own ideas. Long's Share the Wealth Program to help the poor was all over the US. Naturally anyone who helps the poor is killed by the rich.
