The ATF defines Silencer as: The terms “firearm silencer” and “firearm muffler” mean any device for silencing, muffling, or diminishing the report of a portable firearm, including any combination of parts, designed or redesigned, and intended for use in assembling or fabricating a firearm silencer or firearm muffler, and any part intended only for use in such assembly or fabrication.

If the attached item even diminishes the sound .01% of a db, its considered a silencer/suppressor/muffler. I hear an audible difference between firing it with it on and with it off. Dont you? My friend has a PP9 with a "silencer" that is fake... It actually makes the report a little louder. This one does not.

The report is OBVIOUSLY suppressed. I think you need to watch it again and then go read the Federal Firearm Regulations provided by the ATF. Might be insightful to you and others.

the cotton doesn't due anything it just takes up space, and if it did help then wouldn't they put it in real suppressors. I made a suppressor for my Taurus PT 24/7 a very nice, high fps gun. It worked great, taking away that popping sound you usually get.

airsoft silencers will work but you need to modify them most of the time when you buy an airsoft silencer it will be hallow open the end capes and fill it with something it will work *** this will only work on high end all metal guns plastick releases the sounds and metal muffles it so only try if u have a metal gun plastick all it does is elongate the barrel and somewhat improve accuracy

Mostly silencers are recommended for gas guns. I bought a silencer and it made my gun more accurate and it also made it stronger. Without the silencer my gun is 320 fps, w/ the silencer its about 420 w/ .20 gram bbs

Gas guns use gas, well obviously they do, but a lot of the time they have blowback and that gives the gun more realism. Also gas guns mostly fire in semi and full auto modes. Spring guns you have to reload a bb after every shot fired such as the one showed in this video

only way i know of being able to make a springer, is say putting foam and other materials like that into the gun around the spring, hence some what "silencing" it, but i guess to much would jam the spring
