  • aok, I notice you are getting a lot of flak for expressing your opinion -- and ironically, from people who supposedly espouse basic human rights yet openly call to question your character rather than your logically put argument.

I can see how both sides can view this comment, and neither is more right than the other -- it really depends on whether the people he is talking about is you (i.e. in financial rut, pissed off at bush admin etc).

Good on you for standing up for what you believe in!

  • Thank you! It's nice to hear someone actually thinking YouTube can be a force for good (freedom of speech) rather than a way people can anonymously bully others.

  • "Obama attacked we the people for standing for the 1st and 2nd amendment."

That's hilarious. You stand by nothing. In a moment of fear you let congress and bush Swindle you out of some fundamental rights with the patriot act.

Guess what. You're not getting them back. It's a one way street amigo. Keep repeating the same BS propaganda.

"I can't vote for Obama because in a 10 second clip he said I was bitter!!!!" Sounds like a tween on her cell phone pissed at her friend.

  • I am glad to know you are not old enough to vote...You obviously know nothing about what this country needs in a leader. Do you homework bud...You will be affected.

  • The only thing I'm bitter about is the fact that an arrogant, partisan, opportunistic first term senator who has never accomplished ANYTHING and was raised up by the corrupt Chicago political machine has fooled enough people into believing he somehow represents "change" to even be close to John McCain in the polls. That makes me super bitter.

  • You are the minority kid... I'm not fed up with the Bush administration! I think Bush has done more then any democ_rat administration could have possibly hoped for! All they know is the white flag!

I'm glad you are not old enough to vote!

  • You crack me up. Toby Kieth ("Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue") was all for the invasion of Afghanistan. But he has openly said that he never supported invading Iraq. Every U.S. President since FDR has been a liberal...even Reagan was since he increased military spending rather than letting corporations run America. Many of them have spouted conservative values (i.e. isolationism), but Bush is openly anti-isolationist, making him liberal, as are all "neocons" because conservatism is dead.

  • Keep think'n that way!

  • I feel the argument in this video provides more reason not to vote for obama than to vote for him. He took his remark too far by accusing Americans of clinging to guns or religion on the basis of bitterness. Those rights are given to us by ammendments to the constitution. We cannot stand to be accused of using our rights on the basis of reaction. Rights don't require a reason. It's hard to ignore what obama must have meant given his back ground on gun control, religion, and our nations flag.

  • Warmed over Jimmy Carter talking about the national malaise; this is not what we need in a leader. Obama stands a pretty good chance of being elected, but what then? Where do we go from there? No one seems to know, they show up at the revival meeting a chant "yes we can." God help us all!

  • Wow... you really missed the point on that one. No one cares who's bitter or who's not bitter. It's the fact that he refers to people's religious faith or appreciation of the right to bear arms consequences of bitterness. Of course Obama's record on religion speaks for itself. A truly "out of touch" editorial.

  • Americans are not bitter. Liberals are bitter, like the ALWAYS have been. Stop asking what the government can do for YOU, and start asking "How can I get off my ass and stop whining"

you are a child of the left, and that does not depend on your age, you will always be a child, so long as you're on the left

  • thankyou junebug not for the obama support but just for being a young man who can see beyond game playin

    capitol for you

  • Yeah well said dude.. totally agree.

  • Senator Obama is human. Being put through the meat grinder affected him and he stumbled. I predict he will hear the chorus of voices calling for him not to look like a typical politician and bring us a new type of post partisan candidate.

So I am reasonably sure Obama will get back on track - but what Clinton does is another matter - she could punch him in the gut again - and will see. The first comment I made in this election-Will he handle the 1000 hits the machine will inflict on him.

  • With our system this country was founded not long ago and became the world power. Why do you think that is? Our system is perfect nor is any other system but we have become who we are today from our system. A system will never be perfect due to man's greed. Our country is still the best place to live on this planet. If you don't like it you are free to move around...

  • I meant to say our system is not perfect.

  • Young man...you hit the nail on the head!

    THANKS!

  • You make it sound as if it is such an insult to call someone bitter. The use of the word "bitter" as an insult must be used within the right context. You can look up the definition of bitter and you will find something like this: "expressive of severe grief or regret"

And it is almost a certainty that the majority of Americans feel bitter about Bush and his administration.

  • the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort but at times of challenge and controversy GO obama U will rise

  • Speaking as a person that is 60 years old...you give me hope kid:) It's important that Obama is elected president for more than one reason, but the main reason is that we need change. The fact that he doesn't have as much experience as the other politicians means what? That he hasn't had a chance to be bought, that he hasn't learned how to lie, cheat, and steal from us citizens, that he doesn't have ties with the Saudis? Lotus Guide Magazine

  • well said! wish I was an american just for once (trust me not more than just once) so that I could also vote for OBAMA.

  • That was well said. Keep it up!

  • Did anybody notice the part in Obama's SF remarks where he says "some " communities are like that.

How come the "some" word doesn't get quoted?

Yet,I have seen the word "ALL" used to describe Obama's elitism toward "all" folks in the rust belt.

And how come THE WHOLE POINT of his remarks

(that he wants to do something) is lost entirely?

    Why is that?

  • For Hillary to call Barack an elitist and "out of touch" with the working class is insane... let's look at her record: out of Yale, she worked for 6 yrs on the board for Wal Mart, as this corporate juggernaut crushed small businesses everywhere. Wal Mart is widely known for not treating its "workers" well at all. This board she was on strongly opposed having any kind of labor union representing its workers. Hillary = corporate. She helped bring about NAFTA, which has outsourced U.S. jobs

  • AOKjunebug, glad to have you on our side. Hillary will get the smack-down of her life next week! She asked for this, now she's gonna get it!

  • Quit deluding yourself.. he just lost it.. like in New Hampshire.. opened his big Harvard mouth..on a conference call!@ JEEZ .. doesn't he have a brain doesn't he know how he sounds? Then he goes and makes fun of Hilary saying she's always in a duck blind hunting. HE's making fun of HUNTERS NOW!!! DUH!!!! WAKE UP !

  • Honestly falcon, his comments about Hillary in the duck blind were not making fun of hunters. It was calling out Hillary as a fake. Have you heard hillary try to capitalize on this BS by trying to sell herself as "a good ole huntin' girl?" So his comments were pointing out her disingenuineness in trying to portray herself that way to "identify" with hunters. "She's acting like she's out in the duck blind every Sunday." "She's talking like she's Annie Oakley." That's not a cut on hunters

  • You bet he's more in touch with people. He is a totally different politician. McCain and Clinton are just more of the same old politicians. They're going to offer no change. Barack is the man who is going to lead this country out of the "bitterness".

  • This should not surprise anyone. Obama's been listening for 20 years about how bitterness and religion go hand-in-hand. He's just projecting his views on others'.

  • "The near-unanimous consensus that Obama has committed a huge blunder by referring to working class bitterness and resentment has two sources: the enormous social distance of the millionaire pundits and politicians from the real lives of working people, and the fear that under conditions of convulsions in the financial markets and the onset of a deep recession, any discussion of the underlying social antagonisms in America has potentially explosive consequences."

  • Okay. Good points. I'll vote for Obama when I get a chance.

  • I feel sorry for people in states like Ohio & Penn. I've been lucky enough to live in California where we don't usually get politicians criss-crossing the state for an empty promise. In other states this is not the case. If Hillary CLINTON (don't forget her surname, Clintonistas) tells them that Barack Obama's an angry black dude they'll believe her 'cuz they see politics as a choice between the lesser of two evils. Obama understands this & is trying to change the way these voters view politics.

  • Well he shouldn't have done it on a conference call... remember how Nixon's tapes caught him?... The media just loves to play things over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.... I love the Clinton campaign they are handing out "I'm not Bitter" bumper stickers and buttons already!!! Its politics the good old Clinton way.. :))

  • This is the Death knell... the problem is he said they CLING TO GUNS AND RELIGION WHICH IS INSULTING to the very people he needs. That's why you don't know how elections work. The media will bludgeon him all week long with this. He can kiss his ass goodbye as far as winning Pennsylvania now.

  • In the immortal words of Nixon, "[expletive deleted]!" That's how I feel about your comment. The news media is the biggest threat facing our country for the exact reason you mention. Obama was explaining TO elitists the motivations behind votes for guns and religion, and his analysis was accurate, NOT elitist. He is trying to channel that bitterness that we are all feeling into a worthy cause-- his campaign-- rather than religion or guns.

  • Pennsylvania has spoken..As you can see... I was right. If you think people forget words like "bitter and cling to guns and religion" think again. It doesn't matter how many ads you run. Look for a mirror image victory in Indiana.

  • Good video. I'll do the voting for you. Keep it real!

  • Thanks! With any luck I'll get to reelect him in 2012.

  • Obama is a liar and I hate the sight of his lying face. He thinks he is a smooth talking charmer who can talk his way into anything and get anyone to do anything for him. Just because he has a nut sack doesn't make him a good leader.

Voters will come crawling back to Hillary when they grow up and see who the smartest, wisest and most experienced WOMAN is! Protest on April 11- email the media to stop abusing Hillary!

    Take back the press!

  • Right on!!! I heard today that Barack asked whether Hillary Clinton was trying to be like Annie Oakley or something because now she is a gun lover and a hunter. ;) She will do anything in her song and dance routine in order to get elected even slug down shots with the Pennsylvania boys to prove what?

  • Sticksville, PA will always be republican, and some of these pussies support HRC. It will do no good to make these people see the truth. After getting rammed up the ass by W. for the last 7 years, they're too numb to understand anything.

  • Comment on NYT article:

It is outlandish that the Clintons, with their net worth of $109 million or more, would have the audacity to call Barack Obama, who recently finished off paying his student loans, elitist. Barack Obama spent years organizing out of work steel workers on the south side of Chicago for $8k a year that a coalition of church groups payed him.

Hillary Clinton is the embodiment of the sleazy hypocrisy that defines Washington. No one should support her.

  • Hillary CLINTON 2008 !!!

  • When Obama doesn't have a pre-written script from his speech writer, then you're hearing his real thoughts...and those real thoughts show a man who IS out of touch with America; a man who has spent the last 20 years sitting in a church where hatred is part and parcel of the preaching; a man who counts as friends people who are openly anti-American and anti-Israel.

  • anti-Israel? where'd you get that?

  • Well said!!!

The majority of Americans are fed-up, with how career politicians have steered this country into chaos. Congress can bailout BEAR STERNS (Corporate Welfare), but little or nothing is truly done for the american people. We are paying exorbitant gas prices, which is funding the Iraq War. We are also funding the Iraq War through our personal taxes. Sometimes, congress acts as if the federal budget is their personal bank, and too HELL WITH EVERYONE ELSE. ACCONTABILITY IS NEEDED.

  • that was well put, word for word from obama clinton and macain. keep it up

  • I encourage everyone to read the Sunday online NYT

Page one story - balanced - takes shots direct and indirect on BO and HC both

Repeats the REAL issue - and has the full original quote - as well as many BO supporters

Read it - understand the issue is values and beliefs NOT jobs and or anger

  • Look at who he hangs with: Antoin Rezko, his crony, bagman and soon to be convicted, long time friend and domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, the racist Reverend Wright, and he has the nerve to question other peoples motives? Why did he get $200K from tax payer dollars for his wife for the "consulting" she does from a hospital? The man is a fraud and he's got contempt for rural America. Love him you want, but he disdains the law and our nation.

  • The point BO made in Frisco is not about bitter/anger

It is about stereotyping a segment of the population

"they" - per BO - do not vote for him because they 'cling' to religion and guns

"they"- he told his supporters- do not support BO because they have a belief structure that they defaulted to as a result of a closed factory

BO SAID - people believe as they do because of built up frustration. "These people" do not think for themselves or choose their own belief sturcture.

    Conceit

  • Dude u fell 4 it

    BO wants focus on 'bitter/angry'

BO does not want us remembering how he sterotyped an entire segment of our country

"they" do not choose their belief stucture - they default 2 it as a result of anger and bitterness over losing a factory 25 years ago

    Wrong

People have their own ideas and thoughts (thoughts I can differ with) out of deliberate thinking and choice - not because they need a reason to not vote BO

That is what BO meant and said in Frisco

    Conciet

  • Wow, so rural Americans really are bitter gun nuts, xenophobes, and religious fanatics. Obama gets to stereotype fly over country because he's so much smarter than these rubes he scorns. This from a man who has gone to a racist church for 20 years and who compares his loving granny to the malicious preacher he has had, who, by the way, just moved into a big mansion in an all-white suburb.

  • I think this guy is the one who will work hardest for you of the 3 candidates. Why don't you talk about his policies - What do you want to see happen ? This thing about picking people apart - is a game. Who has the best policies. Check out what Collin Powell said about Obama (Powell has not endorsed anyone).

    DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE -

  • His policies - and those of Clinton - are basically the same - and I like both

It is down to which devil do you want as PRES

--- or more importantly -- which devil do you want to run against McCain - the 2008 shell sell out of the better McCain of 2000

  • Right on.

  • Thanks good vid!

  • Thank you because I'm bitter about the way this country is in a downward spiral.
