during my mother sickness, she ask the pastor wife to delicated this song on the radio broadcast one Sunday morning. i question her why and did not want to..little did i know this was her last request before she died. I'm so glad i maded that call. Everytime I heard this song I think of my mother.
Love it! I sang this around the house all the time whenever something gettin on my nerves lol but I only know the first verse. And I feel better each time.
To the owner of this post. I recently had a friend of 10 years diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in July and just recently passed away. This song is the last song we listened to in the hospital. I just want you to know that this song is very special to me now and I so appreciate you having it here for me. God bless you. He really liked this song. To anyone else reading this, love your family and friends at all cost. You just never know what's around the corner...
The lady who use to sing this at my church recently died. I almost forgot about this song but as I remembered Ms. Johnnie B singing it when I was little. Rest in Peace Johnnie B.
I have been looking for this song for YEARS! This song use to send my granny IN! This sister of Christ can REALLLLLLLLY sing. What you hear is an obvious God given anointing bathed in His favor. They don't make em like this anymore! I heard the conviction in her voice like it was a personal testimony. This is a rare gem, thanks for sharing this. God bless this woman of God. I am 37 now and her voice stopped me in my tracks as a child. Glad to hear this again.
I believe Sis. Sankey did a rendition of "I Had a Talk with God Last Night". If anyone has it, PLEEEEAAAASE post it. Stephanie Mills also sang it, but no one can do it like Katie Sankey. Thanx!!!
OMG!! I don't believe Katie Sankey is on Youtube! My mother MURDERS this LP!! Ours is still in good condition! Thanks so Much.. God Made Me is her Jam!
Ms.Sankey just blesses my soul so much! She'd do solo's at the church I grew up and was saved in and is the musician and choir leaders mother. Truly an anointed family with voices and musical abilities and gifts so special from the Lord. A blessed family with deep love for God indeed.
I love this song. She and my mother sang together at a funeral about a month or so ago. Her voice is still as beautiful as it was back then. Go ahead Mrs Sankey!
omg. i cant believe i found this, i remember katie sankey and her family put out an LP. i had that LP at age 18. the whole family could sing sang and sung.
I can remember my grandmother listening to this on the radio... My grandmother who is 89 years old now... She use to listen to this stuff all day... SHe had this radio with a hanger for an antenna and she would and still does, (certainly in the eighties), be listening to gospel on sunday mornings and during the week too. Thats all u heard in the mornings, even when we were out of school for the summer.
I love the feelings of pain and joy that comes from this song. She is saying weeping may endure for a night but Oh God! wait unti morning.. Does anyone has her version of He Touched Me? It's powerful....
Mother purchased this cassette back in the late 70's/early 80's on trip home to mississippi. The whole cassette became my family's favorite "car-tunes"! Mrs. Sankey truly let the Lord use her in a mighty way! Musiclover118, your grandma most definitely can SANG!.......she's carried me through nearly 30 years!
i heard this song as a child (now 48). it has blessed my soul down through the years. i hummed it, spoke it and tried to sing it. some time about a year ago, i stumbled up on it. talking about rejoicing. i play it over and over and over..... can't get enough of it. the more i hear it the better it sounds. thank you, sister sankey for giving this song to the world. the words are absolutely true and spirit filled. ooohoowee!
Hey Sister!!! This is your beloved brother! LOL I see Gran has finally made it to youtube. Now EVERYONE can Taste and see that God is good, and so are his perfected gifts through people like Grandma. She has been such a blessing to so many people. I love you all so much! 2 God B The Glory!!!
I love this song. I have been looking for he song called "He made me;" I also love this one! I can't seem to find it. I think she sings it. I want to hear it or some of it before I buy the album just to make sure it's the right song! She is an imazing singer! I heard someone else sing it and every since then, I have been serching for it. They both are great songs!
My Grandmother had Mrs. Katie Sankey Album...and I learned every song on it. She played this album everyday.....Mrs. Sankey also came to our church..she sang this song and I need thee....This lady was born to sing the gospels..a beautiful voice...everytime I hear this song it make me think of my grandmother R.I.P. Could anyone tell me what has become of Mrs. Sankey? I would like to see her again.
**Precious Memories** I had to be around 11 or 12 when I first heard this song. My sis and I spent the night at our grandmother's house, the next morning while she was cooking breakfast, this song came on the radio... Big Mama started crying and shouting in the kitchen... I didn't understand then what the song was saying, but life, and time have a way of placing you in situations where you have no one but God to turn to.
I first heard this song when I was coming from a classmate's wake at the age of 13. He accidentally shot himself while playing with a gun. My friends and I were sitting in the back seat of my mother's car and this song came on. We all looked at each other and started crying.
I hate to see this type of singing fade away. Those singers are so touching. I am young and love them all. Thats what you call singing from the heart.
Wow, there are actually 2 people that dont like this.... wow
