@SeppeLaury There is no subscription fee to play it. You just pay $60 once to buy the game, and it's yours. They will unveil expansions in the future so the content doesn't stagnate.

@Healingproof GW2 is the complete opposite of wow. GW2 is fun wow isn't and i haven't even played GW2 yet. Wow has grinding GW2 doesn't. Wow has holy trinity GW2 doesn't. Wow is only viable to play for 4h for a whole week until a raid resets, GW2 has world events going on all the time that may have up to more than just 10-25 people fighting in them at a time.
@allgamesarewowcopies How is it an imitation? If we were to compare what GW2 is doing differently than WoW to what it's doing the same, those are two very different lists. All successful MMO's build off of each other anyway; you can't say Everquest didn't influence WoW.

@charmmuffin I can answer this. Ok first of all, PC only, no consoles. It will have micro transactions, but only cosmetics, nothing that can unbalance the game, the original Guild Wars had 3 expansions, so probably along those lines. Hope i helped.
@charmmuffin They've been quiet on microtransactions, but I'm sure they'll have some purely cosmetic things you can buy like WoW has. I wouldn't say a shit load of expansions, but they'll be pretty consistent with them; perhaps one every five or six months. It's purely for the PC.

This developer said to travel from one border of the map to one border of the same map in straight line running would take you 10 min+ without stopping! I was like omfg this is way awesome. They don't plan to make flying mounts cuz it takes away how awesome heart-breaking art large scale + unique each map is.

We really are capable of making our enemies different than us. Oh well - waiting on Secret World.

I'd been playing since TBC but I got a bit irritated with how they were killing all of their best characters in Rise of the Lich King- and then I see that they're about to kill Deathwing and the Warcraft II lore, which I pretty much hold sacred. Since then, there's been no MMO that hasn't died about three weaks before I find out about it. Guild wars II seems to hold pretty much everything I want from an MMO.

They force their inmates to play and don't pay with subscriptions with the rest of the world they have their own pay by min play method. China's been skyrocketing its gotten so bad blizzard stopped releasing numbers of subscribers by country like they used to. Right now there's 2 mil people you can actually play with. Since you cant even play with the chinese version.
I literally said "Oh, shit" out loud when the wolf guy showed up and started talking. I've been playing Rift for the last few months but I like the art style here FAR better. That's not a selling point for me but who doesn't want their character/avatar/toon looking/feeling badass. I'm gonna be hitting up Star Wars MMO when it comes out but I'm pretty sure I'll be getting this to at least play on the side, looks very promising from the vids n stuff I've seen.

The inspiration for about 90% of races and lore in these games comes from old Norse mythology and culture, for example: Nord (Vickings) The particular design of commonly used dragons (Norse mythology) The Titans from WoW (old Norse Gods). So please everyone stop saying that the game and books that you like are original in their lore and races cause you really couldn't be farther from the truth.

Too bad all those races can group with each other - basically there are ZERO enemies that will be different than anyone else. I hated that in Age of Conan - Bob's Aquilonian, Cimmerian, Stygian group vs Sandy's CImmerian, Stygian, Aquilonian group - so lazy on the developer side. We really are capable of making our enemies different than us. Oh well - waiting on Secret World.

I'd been playing since TBC but I got a bit irritated with how they were killing all of their best characters in Rise of the Lich King- and then I see that they're about to kill Deathwing and the Warcraft II lore, which I pretty much hold sacred. Since then, there's been no MMO that hasn't died about three weaks before I find out about it. Guild wars II seems to hold pretty much everything I want from an MMO.

(asura or sylvari are most choosen) I know ppl will be saying " there are no best classes.. a norn warrior is just as good as a charr warrior". but truth is, the racial skills are a bit different so that makes one more suiteble for a class then an other race, even if thats only 0,25%. so please stop saying that. but ppl are right when they say it's really more about opinions.

They force their inmates to play and don't pay with subscriptions with the rest of the world they have their own pay by min play method. China's been skyrocketing its gotten so bad blizzard stopped releasing numbers of subscribers by country like they used to. Right now there's 2 mil people you can actually play with. Since you cant even play with the chinese version.

I literally said "Oh, shit" out loud when the wolf guy showed up and started talking. I've been playing Rift for the last few months but I like the art style here FAR better. That's not a selling point for me but who doesn't want their character/avatar/toon looking/feeling badass. I'm gonna be hitting up Star Wars MMO when it comes out but I'm pretty sure I'll be getting this to at least play on the side, looks very promising from the vids n stuff I've seen.

@chris200830 Every single race and piece of lore in fantasy is alot older then you can imagine. The inspiration for about 90% of races and lore in these games comes from old Norse mythology and culture, for example: Nord (Vickings) The particular design of commonly used dragons (Norse mythology) The Titans from WoW (old Norse Gods). So please everyone stop saying that the game and books that you like are original in their lore and races cause you really couldn't be farther from the truth.

@KmarkecGamer unfortunately that info is wrong. wow is losing players day by day, and is now oriented to only to end game players (that means new players probably wont stay). And with all the new MMOs coming out in these next few years, Blizzard will be hard pressed to keep up on the content. WoW will die soon my friend, I dont See it making it through 2013 with more than 1 million subscribers. Just be happy that we will have all these cool new games to replace it :)
