I'm an old machinist, with limited gunsmithing / cannon making experience (my designs are over engineered). Also, a former soldier, and Marine. I agree... I would have handled the firing differently. But...I was wondering what issues you have with the design? I'm not trying to be mean. I want your input.

I just feel that if this thing is fired every year. And it fires projectiles of at least 8 lbs, up to 2 miles. Our guitar maker has proven his skills.

I have two questions and their just for my own understanding. (1) Wouldn't it had been easier mechanically to put a fuse or some kind of mechanism that ignites the cannon to the rear of the cannon itself? I've seen a lot of these and it just seems like a safer option. (2) Have you ever tried multiple cannon balls at once? It would seem that it should handle more than one, but I am not sure I would trust multiples past three.

This is the un-safest B.B. canon I've ever seen, people spend entirely too much time in front of the muzzle and the fuse should go through a hole on top at the rear.

That cannon is going to KABOOM in the wrong way eventually. The wall thickness(looks around .250) is extremely thin for launching that heavy of a projectile. This guy can't even figure out how to make a breach/chamber/vent.

@762gunr it has one it just gets cloged way to easy, the powder charge is designed to maximize thrust but it also makes it hard to stick the charge with the fuze, and the extra time allows them to make sure that everyone is there when it goes off (and if you paid attention the back of the cannon is far thicker than the barrel trust me it isn't going anywhere)

This gun is Russian Roulette.

There is a risk that the gun would detonate immediately upon lighting the fuze if there's any unlit gunpower in the upper tube.  Huge, huge risk.

Also, the person who ignites the fuze has to stand in front of the barrel. If there is any type of emergency and the gun goes off unexpectedly, that person is toast. the owners of this gun are allowing people to get way too close. Get the spectators back. First off, I love cannons - ex redleg FDC guy here - fso this is cool. However, I have to be anal and throw out that the way they are lighting the charge is VERY dangerous. NEVER stand in front of a gun while lighting the fuse/powder charge. That is why historically cannons had fuse vents where they were lit from the side/rear. Larry even mentions the Chinese fuses he uses as not being consistent. I would also not let a minor stand in front of it and light it. Still, pretty cool gun!
