cai and pulley wont get a gt500 600WHP, for 600WHP you need full exhaust, upper AND lower pulley, cai, a good tune and a naturaly good running car. That GT500 was most likely around 520-540WHP, good run though.

Mustang5.0 did an extensive test article with a Shelby GT500 ( 08) and a 03 Cobra,same day, same professional driver, same track. The first runs were stock, the GT500 was faster w/ exception of 60 ft. Qtr Mile and ets were faster in the Shelby. Next runs were equal mods ( CAI, pulley and tune) done to each. The Shelby was significantly faster in the quarter and trap speed was 9 mph faster. They said it was the bigger 5.4 that made the diffrence. Id take the Shelby , better looking and faster
Thats funny, cause it's well known that a GT500 stock does the 1/4 mile in 12.8 and the 03-04 cobra's have destroyed those numbers from day one. I wonder if the GT500 had some sticky tires on it. Cause that was a huge down fall with the 1/4 mile numbers for a GT500. They had shitty tires on and couldnt hook up to save there lives. A shelby GT500 with some stickier tires on it would outrun a 03-04 Cobra. But with stock tires on advantage 03-04 Cobra
Yeah thats quite possible, but I bet that wasnt with the stock tires from the factory either. Even a preoffesional driver with stock tires counldnt break the 12.7 mark with the stock tires. Just way to much wheel spin, now if better tires are used then yeah, 12.2's are very capable. But the SVT's are also capable of those 12.2 times also.
And why isnt that happening???? There are cobra's with slicks on touching the really high 11's with just air filter changes. Why isnt a 12.2 capable?????? 12.4's are common times all day long with stock cobra's why wouldnt a 12.2 be capable.
Your never going to see a Bone stock Cobra touch 12.2 even with slicks... A 12.4 is pushing it.. Ive owned a 03 Cobra and ran a 12.6 bone stock and that was with a 1.7 60'.... Lol you will never see one even ge near 11's stock
Just cause you yourself have not run a 12.2 doesnt mean it cannot be done, track conditions vary a ton. Also altitude from sea level and humidity play a huge roll in cars getting what times they do.
@helloman1976 Not the 07-09. They weigh in at 3820 , only 220 lbs heavier than the 03-04 Cobras. The 07-09 GT500s beat the 03-04s in stock form AND with equal mods ( pulley, tune, cai). The GT500s are actually significantly faster with equal mods . THATS why the 03-04s were replaced by the Shelby GT500s.

07 gt500's can be bought for high 20's-low $30's now. Got mine for $33k w/cai & pulley already installed; only 4k miles. I think the 390hp was under rated. I think they are ~415bhp stock. Both cobras are awsome. I was looking for a terminator when I found my '07 and couldn't pass it up.

well, first of all you can't compare the price of a 2010 shelby to a 2003 cobra, next the 2010 shelby runs 12.2 in the 1/4 mile... finally it is kind of hard to base the facts on THIS video because it does not tell us what hp the cobra is running and it says the GT500 is pretty much stock except for a cold air intake and it says the gt500 is runiing 600hp....but in my opinion i dont think ford failed.
It doesnt run 13.2 because of traction problems it has the potential to run 12.2 the reason it failed to me is the hp to weight ratio and the fact that its the same price as the base corvette and the base corvette actually runs 0-60 in 12.2 and it runs better in the 1/2 mile. PERSONALLY I DONT THINK THE SHELBY GT500 HASNT ECLLISPE THE 03-04 COBRA. Like they set out to do. Because I can honestly tell u that u can get a 03-04 cobra 4 14,000 & up & put 5 grand in it & ur carckin the heavens

cai and pulley wont get a gt500 600WHP, for 600WHP you need full exhaust, upper AND lower pulley, cai, a good tune and a naturaly good running car. That GT500 was most likely around 520-540WHP, good run though.

Mustang5.0 did an extensive test article with a Shelby GT500 ( 08) and a 03 Cobra,same day, same professional driver, same track. The first runs were stock, the GT500 was faster w/ exception of 60 ft. Qtr Mile and ets were faster in the Shelby. Next runs were equal mods ( CAI, pulley and tune) done to each. The Shelby was significantly faster in the quarter and trap speed was 9 mph faster. They said it was the bigger 5.4 that made the diffrence. Id take the Shelby , better looking and faster

Thats funny, cause it's well known that a GT500 stock does the 1/4 mile in 12.8 and the 03-04 cobra's have destroyed those numbers from day one. I wonder if the GT500 had some sticky tires on it. Cause that was a huge down fall with the 1/4 mile numbers for a GT500. They had shitty tires on and couldnt hook up to save there lives. A shelby GT500 with some stickier tires on it would outrun a 03-04 Cobra. But with stock tires on advantage 03-04 Cobra

Yeah thats quite possible, but I bet that wasnt with the stock tires from the factory either. Even a preoffesional driver with stock tires counldnt break the 12.7 mark with the stock tires. Just way to much wheel spin, now if better tires are used then yeah, 12.2's are very capable. But the SVT's are also capable of those 12.2 times also.

Just cause you yourself have not run a 12.2 doesnt mean it cannot be done, track conditions vary a ton. Also altitude from sea level and humidity play a huge roll in cars getting what times they do.

@helloman1976 Not the 07-09. They weigh in at 3820 , only 220 lbs heavier than the 03-04 Cobras. The 07-09 GT500s beat the 03-04s in stock form AND with equal mods ( pulley, tune, cai). The GT500s are actually significantly faster with equal mods . THATS why the 03-04s were replaced by the Shelby GT500s.

07 gt500's can be bought for high 20's-low $30's now. Got mine for $33k w/cai & pulley already installed; only 4k miles. I think the 390hp was under rated. I think they are ~415bhp stock. Both cobras are awsome. I was looking for a terminator when I found my '07 and couldn't pass it up.

I wish ford would of kept the curb weight near the new gt weight I lke what they did with the interior its the best looking mustang hands down and has nav and serious radio the seats are amazing. well, first of all you can't compare the price of a 2010 shelby to a 2003 cobra, next the 2010 shelby runs 12.2 in the 1/4 mile... finally it is kind of hard to base the facts on THIS video because it does not tell us what hp the cobra is running and it says the GT500 is pretty much stock except for a cold air intake and it says the gt500 is runiing 600hp....but in my opinion i dont think ford failed.

It doesnt run 13.2 because of traction problems it has the potential to run 12.2 the reason it failed to me is the hp to weight ratio and the fact that its the same price as the base corvette and the base corvette actually runs 0-60 in 12.2 and it runs better in the 1/2 mile. PERSONALLY I DONT THINK THE SHELBY GT500 HASNT ECLLISPE THE 03-04 COBRA. Like they set out to do. Because I can honestly tell u that u can get a 03-04 cobra 4 14,000 & up & put 5 grand in it & ur carckin the heavens

My friend has a base vette that has 450 hp and is hundreds of lbs lighter than the gt500 and more areodynamic it he has beaten the gt500. And the zo6 does beat the gt500kr 100% it smokes it look on youtube. I just hope ford gets it togeather drop the weight 500lbs and widen the rear tires and you have a world beater they have the potential to be so much better so why not do it. this is what will happen in a half-mile drag race: the awd of the wrx will give it more grip and a quicker startoff and the small tires of the gt500 will leave it about one or two car lengths behind...but when the gt500 gets grip, the wrx will be left in the dust at least 3 seconds behind

No the wrx wont beat it in a straight line but it can beat it off the line and keep up the wrx has no business doing that with only 300hp. and the gt500 has around 530-540hp.
