With all due respect to the golden age of cinema (20's to 40's), the late 70's and the 80's were the true golden age of cinema where iconic movies TOGETHER with iconic sountracks were made. To name a few - "Grease", "Saturday Night Fever", Xanadu", "Rocky", "Flashdance", Footloose", "Karate Kid", "Top Gun", "Dirty Dancing", and lastly "Pretty Woman" (1990). Sadly,Hollywood doesn't make movies like these anymore. Guys, u gotta give me a thumbs up if u are old enough 2 remember and agree.
I believe this song should have been in "Footloose" instead of "Top Gun", but anyway I look at it, one of my all-time "power ballads" I would play over any song any day of the week. Thank you, Loverboy and Mike Reno!

@Pong, Vardiss & Forza.......Thanks for the thoughts.......unfortunately I tried to remain friends, but thanks to her family & supposed friends that have stabbed her in the back numerous times she's nice to me when they're not around but puts up a front when they are so I gave up on that. I can't deal with two faced people. I'll always still have love for her. I don't miss her though. I miss the person and wife that she once was.
@njazrael71 At least I can relate to your story because I'm a 21 yr old who had to drop like three friends in the past because they wanted to play split personality around other people so I can identify with you.
Top Gun, Tom Cruise and the 80's forever from a guy who was 16 when this was on the charts...gone but never forgotten....this movie is why i'll ALWAYS be Tom Cruise fan. also as a fighter plane fan i must say F-14 Tomcat gone (in the United States ..heard to believe ) but definitely never forgotten. definitely a cold war machine that kicked Warsaw Pact ass.

This is one of the best romantic ballads of its time, but I wouldn't say it's the best. It's definitely in the top 10, though! I love the message!! It's so touching!! I've been listening to it since it came out originally!!
