Why?! Why so many comments about "i feel sad for Dedede"?!

Thought it's sad, this is all a copy of "Revenge of Meta Knight" the ending also is clearly similar to "Revenge of Meta Knight Ending"Also, in that game Dedede was masked, just like meta knight.

I hope someday there will be more comments about "i feel sad for meta knight" the halberd ending scene was pretty sad...

Copy of the ending? While the music and sunset is a clear homage, Revenge of Meta Knight didn't end with a shamed Meta Knight walking. It ended with a successful Kirby riding away. Meta Knight just flew off.

While I can't exactly approve of Dedede's actions of revenge, he clearly had his confidence and spirit broken here. And just seeing him in that shape isn't exactly filling some of us with joy.

in simple terms its like this: Dedede DID NOT GAVE UP after his first attempt, however, because of this, he was seen as a bad guy, when he just wanted to get his stuff back. he lost almost everything in that first fight, and merrily wanted it back, only to be trounced over. sure he might have been evil THEN, but at this scene, you get the full story, and see him give up forever, and then he just becomes a simple person, but his waddle dee keep following him, and will always be seen as bad. :(

@NakedLeafProductions Well, you said Nintendo villains. As far as they go, the villains from the Mother/Earthbound games (dunno if you've ever played them) have a ton of depth. And Ganondorf gets some significant development in some Zelda games, especially The Wind Waker.

I think it's sort of hard to compare Kirby to those franchise though, since they're far more story-driven.

Chapter 1-4 were hilariously awesome... but the dialogue & Ending of 5 just depressed me. Everything from the Waddle Dee fighting despite being spared by Dedede, to the INCREDIBLY sad "Walk of Shame" Ending after beating Dedede... it never ONCE seemed like "Revenge", either. It seemed more like Dedede wanting to just be left alone, and Kirby just kicking him out of his castle a second time... in fact, it seemed like he was trying to keep Kirby away, which is uncharacteristic for revenge. Huh...

@toad15fan I don't know if he made things longer, actually... consider this: an unknown amount of time has elapsed since the previous encounter. In that time, I'd say that the only thing Dedede probably could alter, is his castle's layout, given how Kirby lifted the castle into the air last time.

be it the beach, the woods, the clouds... Kirby probably took entirely different paths compared to his previous adventure... and from the dialogue of the King, he seemed more "cornered" than "Hostile".

@smartboy201 My interpretation is that King Dedede had set things up so that he could finnaly kick Kirby out of his kingdom and had challenged Kirby to come and get him if he could. But when Dedede saw that Kirby could not be stopped by anything he threw at him, he panicked. When Kirby finally got to him, Dedede went all out and still lost.

At the end he's depressed that he wont be able to get rid of kirby, and the waddle dees walk with him in their unending loyalty to him.

This song was so fiting to the credits. And I really liked the revenge of the kings credits. That is one of the reasons that Nintendo can be so super awesome. Ddd got defeated yet again by Kirby and his followers (waddle dees) would still follow him. Which is why Dedede is on my top 3 if not top 1 list of favorite villans
