I don't get why people think he's a reincarnation of Buddha. Isn't this very contradictory to the Buddha's teaching? There's no reincarnation in Buddhism and a Buddha never returns to samsara after attaining to parinibbana. So basically no one really has paid attention to what Buddha taught?
Reincarnation becomes a choice, not a compulsion. There are many reincarnations of enlightened masters, especially in Vajrayana. They are called Tulkus, the Dalai Lama is one. It is also possible that he is an emanation of a Buddha or Deity. He may be Maitreya. I don't think that he is a reincarnation of the historical Buddha, and neither does he, but simple people believe only what they can understand. He is a new Buddha!!!

In fact its in direct opposition with buddhas teachings. Buddha taught of impermanence and flux. Thus if nothing lasts how can you be reincarnated?

Well...even if it's true, what significance do the abnormal abilities of one boy have for us all? Don't forget that Gautama Buddha became "enlightened" after rejecting asceticism and accepting food from a passing girl. ^This is not the Buddhism that Guatama taught; it has much more in common with mystic yogic hinduism. Buddhism is not about special powers - it's about the miracle of ordinary life - the ordinary life that you and I live, everyday.

historical siddarta gautama died and will never return.. but the enlightenment he achieve as buddha is eternal and beyond time and space.. the desire by ordinary humans to achieve this enlightenment keeps us thinking and doing.. it is easy to understand when you know that "buddha" has 3 aspects.

Many years ago i read about Buddhists who practice this hundreds of years ago. The translation was poor but the general belief was that everything our body needs was in the ether and every pour in our body was a mouth that could consume the nutrients and water it needed. whether this is true or false we are not even close to what we are capable of. peace.

I don't get why people think he's a reincarnation of Buddha. Isn't this very contradictory to the Buddha's teaching? There's no reincarnation in Buddhism and a Buddha never returns to samsara after attaining to parinibbana. So basically no one really has paid attention to what Buddha taught?

Reincarnation becomes a choice, not a compulsion. There are many reincarnations of enlightened masters, especially in Vajrayana. They are called Tulkus, the Dalai Lama is one. It is also possible that he is an emanation of a Buddha or Deity. He may be Maitreya. I don't think that he is a reincarnation of the historical Buddha, and neither does he, but simple people believe only what they can understand. He is a new Buddha!!!

C' mon pepole, We don't respect Buddha for his longest mediation than anyone or because he can survive without food or water for months. We do respect Buddha for his wisdom, his mind, his compassion, and his teaching of which benefited us all for thousand years.
My point is, whether this boy is real or not, it really doesn't matter. If all that he can do is just sitting there, doing nothing fruitful beside meditation, then he certainly wont get my respect, and he shouldn't get yours too.

I'm not sure what your point is here.
When this kid comes out of his trance, he might provide many insights that have been missing for centuries. He might provide the very wisdom, compassion and teachings that you were referring to.
I have much respect for this kid whether he goes on to do anything or not. Not because of what he will provide, but because he is a fellow human being that has taken it upon himself to try to learn the secrets of the Universe.

well they monitored him for 60 hrs and he had no food, spirtually/meditation wise he's so advanced he's able to restrict hunger emotions, that why his teachers says he did extra homework, and the tree is a symbol of a spirit, i.e every leaf has an emotion and the roots connects you with the rest of the world. hope that eases some of your question.

Buddha never taught reincarnation, Buddha taught rebirth. He never taught that once you die you come back as another.
In fact its in direct opposition with buddhas teachings. Buddha taught of impermanence and flux. Thus if nothing lasts how can you be reincarnated?
Even if then, how can you die and come back as another? How can you be another and still be what you are? What part remains if you were to come back as another?

The very first line is incorrect, it says, "Nepal...the birthplace of Buddhism". Ideally it shold have been, "Nepal...the birthplace of Prince Siddharta". Prince Siddharta attained enlightenment in India and hence the birthplace of Buddhism is India.

As much as I believe that humans capabilities exceeed what is commonly known, and that there are some who are capable of amazing feats I just don't believe this..... dear ktakt99, in those time Nepal was called "Kiratdesa". The term "Nepal" only starts from 4th century BC.
During the Buddha period, there were many tribes ruling the various region. Shakya tribe(whom Buddha was born into) was ruling the Kapilavastu region.
During the Gupta Empire, many tribes were were rounded up and Sanskritize to form One Nation-->Bharat(India), with One language Hindi.
But Kiratdesa(Nepal) has always been a sovereign nation. Plz do research before writing nonsense.

He is not the first person to do this. In Asian religions there are many accounts of yogis doing the exact same thing. The only difference is that they do it in seclusion. He is letting the world see this process. This is a great blessing.

It is unclear if this is a scam but I tend to think it is genuine.
Not many Christians will agree with me but all the ancient teachings are similar. This is exactly what Jesus taught: if one can suppress his thoughts, desires and cravings, he will resurrect the infinite in him (depicted in his crown of thorns, pierced heart and the drink which numbed his senses).
There is a book at thesonsoflight.wordpress which reveals these.
But such things were misunderstood.

In the 6th century BC there were many malpractices on Hinduism, and at that time Gautama Buddha was removing these malpractices like, animal sacrifice, idol worship, but he never mentioned about the concept of God.. As an enlightened being he showed ppl the path of enlightenment, and we need to seek for this light inner us.. its much more based on spiritualism rather than religion..

Water in evaporated state has no form and in liquid state has a transparent to murky looking form while in frozen state is hard ice to snow....its just the frequency at which it is visible. these people really shouldn't have called him "Buddha boy". It's an dishonour to Buddha. Buddha rejected "Attakilamatanu Yoga" (fasting) as the way of obtaining "Nirwana" (enlightenment). besides as words spoken by Buddha him self, it's not yet the time for the "Mitree Buddha" (next Buddha)

when people see someone enlightened they almost worship them. it's easier to be around the "holy one" instead of searching the enlightment themselves; it might have caused the creation of today's western-mid eastern religions.

Simply amazing. Power over the mind makes all things possible, people merely refuse to accept what their mind fails to understand.
We are nothing but energy, stuck in this dense dimension, but capable of exploring all worlds, all dimensions. Seeking truth, unlocking the hidden capabilities of the mind can lead to enlightement.
But it is hard when truth is frowned upon, and success in deceit praised and rewarded. But the rewards of this dimension remain when you do not.

Even if the boy is getting food and water at night or hidden, we must all accept that it isnt easy what he's doing. Could we sit there quiet all day for 10 months, even being nourished ? I dont think so... so either way it's pretty amazing what he is doing and in my opinion, he should be left alone. Damn capitalism...
