  • I LOVE all your videos. You are so witty!

    Suz

  • You aren't the only who cheats on their

project. I have a knitting project going

and a crochet project going at the same

    time.

  • It's okay to make shawls and give them away.

I do that myself with the ministry that I've started

    last February.

  • I too cheat on my projects...

  • I think most knitters do ;-) What a group of tarts!

  • i never use to do it when i started but now with that knit stitch blanket i'd go crazy if i didn't

  • But I've heard that left-handed people are the only ones in their right minds. Isn't that true?

  • ah, that is sooooo true! I've just started knitting, and hopefully, I can be that good.

    I ALSO LOVE GREEN WOOOOOW

  • The tape is awesome. I bought it from someone online, can't remember who at the moment. I have it in green, pink and blue. I tear off one piece the length of the longest chart row and fold the ends in on itself so I have little tabs that make it easier to grab and lift it off and move it up a row. I am rather a fickle knitter and often have a lot of projects going at once!

  • It's never too late! While I learned to crochet as a small child (grandma taught) I didn't learn to knit until about 5 years ago!

  • You have way more patience that I. You must show us the finished product. The mystery knitting group sound like a lot of fun. By the way, men do wear shawls, for example, Abraham Lincoln.

  • It's a fine line between patience and insanity. ;-)

This is the third Mystery Knit I have been on, much fun! I didn't realize men ever wore shawls, cool!

  • i am a beader, but i cheat on my projects all the time. i get distracted by other patterns or ideas.

my sister is knitter / crocheter i am gonna send her a link to your vids. she will love them (as do i)

    xoexo

  • I dabble in beading. By that I mean a lot of my shawls have beads knit into them and I have made some beaded neclaces and braclets. I have one knitted bead necklace I'll have to show in a vid. You will love it! Do you know the beading website, earthfaire(dot)com? You would enjoy it I bet!

  • yarn over!?!? *rips hair out* I do not know how to do that. lol My daughter got me this mini book for my stocking at Christmas because she knew I wanted to learn knitting and it's called knitting for dummies. Because it's small it may not have as much info as the bigger one but now I'll have to go look up yarn overs. Grr ;-) It is fun to learn though. :D I'm addicted to looking at yarn in stores. How weird is that? lol

  • Not weird at all my friend. Yarn is a 'gateway drug' ;-) If I made a vid of all the yarn, books, knitting needles and various other paraphernalia I had your jaw would drop. And I have only been addicted about 5 years. Knitting led to spinning (and 3 spinning wheels) then to weaving, and 3 looms. Intervention is not necessary, I like my addiction just fine ;-) Like I said before, Sue, I will help you with any knitting question I can! I'm also an enabler. LOL

  • OH my gosh, you spin!! Holy moly. I saw a video on that here on youtube and I was thinking that would be fun!

  • When we get moved into our new house and I have room for all my 'stuff' i will make some spinning videos. I first talked TimberGeek into getting me a wheel because it would be cheaper to spin my own. LOL!!!! NOT!!! I still buy just as much yarn and now by roving and fleeces from sheep to process and spin. So more stuff! In New England have lots of "Sheep and Wool Festivals" where there tons of vendors and I spend all my hard earned cash each year. PM me to find out more. If you dare! ;-)

  • lol

  • ummmmm...WOW!! you speak a second language so well..lolol..looks very nice..even though I had no clue what you were talking about..I do however know what a shawl is..does that get me a jelly bean??? :)

  • Sorry, I know these knitting vlogs are going to be boring for non-knitterly folks, but I can't help myself. I want to give back to the knitting community that's given me so much. Now here are some damn jelly beans. Go sit quietly in the corner and eat them ;-) btw they were Jelly Bellies, I love those things!

  • knitting tart ;]

  • collabing croissant! ;-P

  • I think men should be forced to wear shawls around the house as punishment for stealing jelly beans.

  • rofl! TG does not seem amused by this, but it's my favorite comment of the day! In all fairness I bought the jelly beans for him in the first place!

  • oops typo..i meant BY watching your knitting vlogs lol! d'oh!

  • Amazing! Love it :0) My friend and I have been saying we are going to start knitting again [neither of us are very good tbh lol] I am really inspired though, but watching your knitting vlogs. Thanks for sharing! 5*

  • Thanks, Nicole! I'm glad to inspire! I learned to knit 5 years ago by watching a woman's vids on the internet. I had tried for years to knit the way everyone around me did, the 'english' way, by 'throwing' the yarn. Come to find out I was destined to knit 'continental' and the woman whose vid I watched showed both methods. After that I was hooked. I made every mistake imaginable at first. Including buying cheap acrylic 'mohair' to knit a sweater with as my first project...in orange. ;-)

  • LOL you got me with the title of the vid! How do you follow those patterns? looks too complicated for me, now focus, one project at a time lol..good luck in finishing ☺

  • HAHAHA!!!! My dear Rich, it takes a cheeky title to grab you. Then when I suck you in...a knitting vlog! Bwaaaahhhhhaaaa!!!!

    Thank you for stopping by!

  • LOL! Too cute how you worked the theme throughout the video. Great shawl. I was just going to ask if you wore them, because I knew they would annoy me, when you said you didn't. Of course that being said, there are winter nights when maybe a shrug wouldn't be so bad sitting here at the computer... something to think about. Anyway, great pattern, it looks pretty.

  • I'm just in love with the look of lace and the compexities of the patterns that can be achieved! Plus when you get done it's done, unlike sweaters that you have to fiddle with attaching sleeves, etc. But I also realize I will wear a sweater more often.

  • I've done a couple of pieces of simple laces and can see why it's addictive to so many. And how exciting when you finish and the pattern is clearly discernible? I did a baby hat for my new great nephew with a lace row you put narrow ribbon through. Came out way cute. Now I'm designing one with more rows and am thinking of adding beads in the holes. If I do it, I'll shoot you a pic.

  • Awesome, I love working beads in. Do you string them on the yarn or work them in with a steel crochet hook? I'be done bothe, but I prefer the crochet hook method as it is less stressful on the yar. I also think adding the bead on the purl side makes the bead "pop" more to the surface. I would love a pic, or a vid would be cool so all could enjoy! hint, hint ;-)
