What's the point? Of course there's targeted advertising, that's how companies sell their products. You could do the same type of thing showing advertising targeting men, children, seniors, college students, etc etc etc. Advertising is designed to be manipulative. Nobody should have a problem with that unless they feel they are stupid enough to be manipulated.

I've stopped watching TV altogether because of all the stupid ads and debasing shows. It's trash. All trash. There's nothing useful on the TV which you can't get on the internet or some other form of media where you can have more control over what you see.

@kathleenhannah Well they play all these commercials and advertisements full of women are are airbrushed or just altered to make us feel bad about ourselves. It's terrible. I hate it when I hear my nine year old cousin say she is too fat when she is so clearly skinny. They make us hate who we are inside and out. It's sad how they make females of all ages discriminated against for not being the "perfect woman."

yeah! and instead of being creative, intstead of focusing on their education, on art, on work, on love, on music, party, love, sex and all the interesting, fulfilling and IMPORTANT aspects of life, many girls waste their time and energy thinking about their bodys and food...for whom? not for themselves, not for their own benefit but for the others...sad

The advertisers just play the fact that women are inherently more vane. And women just get pissed off and uppity when they realize that the advertising actually works like it was designed to.

@hermanalleman Definition of vanity: comfortable and happy with one's physical appearance. Women are NOT vain thus 100x more ads target them than us guys, i see the effects in girls at my school who hate their looks/selves cuz media and well us. we get uneasy media targets us but its NOTHIN compared to the amount it does girls 3-93 they get SO much more pressure almost all i know are depressed with their bodies/looks even to the point of faking comfort by flaunting sexiness trying to alive. sad

@hermanalleman They should be pissed off when they realize. i got my sister to think of and my friends and my mother. I, A GUY, got pissed off when i realized it and i wouldn't want to be female can you imagine how hard it must be with culture, media and society expecting what is impossible of you every minute of every day? my sister told me im lucky to be born male like i was and she hopes in her next life (she believes in reincarnation) she'll be she's not gender-confused either. we ARE lucky.

@kathleenhannah Nobody is forcing women to stay at home anymore than they're forcing them to eat that tub of ice cream whilst watching Oprah.The reason women get paid less is because they do less work and retire earlier than men. Advertisers have simply clued in to the fact that women love spending men's money which is how they get their revenue in the first place.

@professorfoxtrot Sorry that your mom must be a retired no good gold digger. My mom stopped working only when my dad told her to quit to take care of me and my brother. He told her that he would make enough so she wouldn't have to work and instead babysit us. Well, then he decided to quit his good paying job to mortgage the house to work part time for fun. My dad got a full time job and my mom went back to work and works longer work for less money than he does. Sorry about your mom. But stfu.
