@deepdriedspam "the riders are crazy for going that fast"
It is a race mate lol
The riders are crazy for participating in the event all together but many of them are normal people like me and you racing the production bikes we can buy in the shops. It's not about money like GP...it's about the love of racing and winning.
@AnonHancock You sir are what makes me fear for mankind.... Pull your head out of your fucking ass... this is quite a serious crash in-fact I have seen fatalities with impacts like that..... Its not funny at all... go outside and socialise and rub some grass in ya face mate........you are being a total cunt.
I recall hearing on some dramatic TV show that this guys rear shock completely failed, whole rear of the bike squatted down and as you can see went ballistic. Riding bike like this takes baaaalls
got this off the net.....he smashed in to a wooden fence the ONLY one on that side of the road all the other houses had stone walls , thank god he hit that fence not the walls , he ended up in the middle of the road right in front of us , i think he ended up with a broked leg, pelvis etc , the bike was draged into a front garden well what was left of it a black frieblade if i remember corectly , a very lucky guy to still be with us..
@bugguy73 It looks that way, but it was actually his right arm that was broken, not the one yu see flapping about in the video. And it was only broken in one place, not badly broken.
Because he was right there with him, the guy with the yellow flag should have been rendering aid to the victim, and let someone else take charge of the flag.
@shamarone Quite correct. And in one of the many reports and studies carried out, it is said it was quite possibly the siize of the front wheel that could have caused the accident.
anybody from the states remember ABC's wide world of sports from the early 80's...? yes...? ok then this is the motorcycle industry's equivalent of that famous "Agony of Defeat" guy (vinko bogata) who takes a header off the side of the ski jump.
Well, well, stop the cavalry, fellas... This is a race. The sacred and definitive race. Them racers risk their life, time and money by their passion WITHOUT risking innocent lives.
Any worm or cockroach critizing this accident uses to look in simpathy retards like Ghost Riders and so on...
Holy crap are they haulin balls. This is why racing should be done on actual race tracks, not street circuits. On a race track there are usually grass/gravel to slide off into instead of stone walls. Hope he was alright. That looked absolutely brutal.
@trevorfrankrising I see your point but nobody forced them in participating. Thats what freedom is all about, if you kill yourself yes thats stupid if you dont its the ultimate buzz.
@trevorfrankrising Hopefully never. It's the ultimate road race and it's their choice to race and it's properly marshalled. It's also very popular with spectators. If you don't like it, don't watch it!
@excriminal1, once again I will correct you. This crash was Paul Orritt in the 1999 TT, the accident was the bottom of Bray Hill. Joey Dunlop was killed in Estonia in 2000 in a 125cc race.. If you can't tell the difference between the TT track and an Estoniain track, yu best stop watching bike videos. Educate yourself before commenting again
@emtildeath Really, man! Who the fuck who can tie their shoes doesn't know the difference between the TT track and an Estoniain track? What a BUFFOON! What an ignoramus! Not being able to tell the difference between the TT track and an Estoniain track is a reason to CONTINUE to watch bike videos, not STOP watching. I think you're the first motorcycle track nerd EVER!
@chackers Not a nerd at all, I live in Castletown on the Isle of Mann, I was correcting somebody that was saying this was Joey Dunlop in the accident, when in fact it was Paul Orritt. And if you couldn't tell the difference, then yes time to stop watching as apparently they had watched this video thousands of times. :-)
@emtildeath I see. Never mind me: I'm kind of an ahole. But did that guy get f'ed the f up, or what? He was close to amorphous, by the time he came to a rest!
I like the way the flagman keeps waving them off with his hand, as if 1) they don't know what a guy holding a yellow flag means, and 2) the motorcyclist was going to instead DRIVE RIGHT OVER the injured guy and/or his bike.
@excriminal1 Incorrect. The riders name is Paul Orritt. The crash is at the bottom of Bray Hill. He walked away with and injured arm and a few injured ribs. Joey Dunlop passed away a year later in 2000 while taking part in a race in Tallinn, Estonia. :-)
i think id be quite appreciative of a broken arm if id just crashed at that speed. very lucky dude, hope he recovered ok. ilse of man riders got some balls and just a lil bit nuts.
oh right. i seem to remember at the time, hearing about the steering damper on the radio or gettin told by someone that it was something to do with that. maybe it broke after the crash or somthing. either way. Nasty accident! Cant wait for this year though!
@MilibandDavid And anyone who comes out with a comment like yours watching a video like this is clearly more of the idiot. Oh and your YouTube name says it all you bloody political loving health and safety freak. Don't hate if you don't ride.
That looked bad. Glad he's ok now. i fell off my pushbike doing 5mph and that bloody hurt, don't think I could get back on a motorbike again, but I was once a biking enthusiast.
