  • very nice, but im using th standard 4 desktops, and the battery drains real fast,, cant imagine how fast it'll empty up using 9!!!!

  • shame on you...that music is shit!!

  • ohhh this was cool to watch great job! ill stick with 6 right now.

  • Btw, about the apps menu, it would be really important to add native support for folders and subfolders.

And regarding making it like homescreens, since we will be able to go into as many levels as we want (with folders and subfolders), how about just apply toroidal topography and just scale it to whatever number of icons are there, if someone wants to make it all accessible with at most one swipe they would just have to get the X and Y count of icons right (and swipe from the corners/edges)

  • How far are we from getting this 8-way swipe, toroidal topology, 9 homescreens in the N900?

  • @XenGi00 no not really.... just have a picture that has speciffic things for each part of the grid. Like a picture of an animal or a very unique building or painting....

and you will always know where you are in the grid by looking at the background of the screen.... just an idea..

  • I like that, i would like couple more xD. and one dedicate to just a wallpaper lolz

  • This indeed looks like a great idea, i hope they make it official! :D

  • This indeed looks like a great idea, i hope they make it official! :D

  • Does anyone know when Maemo 6 is coming out?

  • Super Fake!

  • FAKE !

  • @darkagestyle This Is Not Fake This Is Whats Coming With Maemo 6 Later This Year

  • face:p

  • It'll be easy to navigate since you can change your background layout so you can recognize which homepage you're on. Or simply add like a little photo that has a number notification on it. Not every complex.

  • how i can do that in N900 , it shows just 4 ?

  • OBVIOUSLY this is fake ppl.. look at the blueTooth icon besides the battery icon.. sometimes its on and most of the times its off.. now if it was real th eicons in the clock tray would remain the same all the time

  • This vid has been made to illustrate a suggestion to the maemo developpers, not to fool anyone.

You just have to follow the link to figure out...

  • lol. It's a joke :D

There is movie editing, not real. You can see it: look at the images - time and system tray moves with desktops. On real N900, time and tray remains in it's place.

  • What a great idea :-D

Music is killing me tho, makes me want to kill somebody... (thinking about how good the idea is) Urge to kill...fading...fading...fading -- rising!

  • I think this is fake ,because i heard that on maemo 6 you can do this!! ;)

  • this is fake shit!!

  • That's a great concept, but I'm sure Nokia's Team Maemo thought considered this when working on the N900.

I think the only problem might be that some widgets on the N900 eat battery life because they're still a little buggy, so having 9 desktops full of possibly battery draining bug-programs could be a bit too much :D

That said, I still would like to see this. :)

  • only 4 screens are not enough for me, so nice idea!

  • nice idea

  • yep

  • Ohh im so in loveeeeee!!

  • Thanks for commenting,

The 5-homescreen 4 way was what I considered first (from the main (1) up (2) down (3) left (4) right (5). And you're right, that's probably the best middle ground in having more homescreens minus confusion

How I've shown 9 screen here is unfortunately confusing but it would work the same way. I could place all my games in screen 1, bookmarks screen 2, office things screen 3 etc. Any time I want games, I know to swipe to screen 1..

  • @MyNokiaBlog it is good but it is going to kill the battery life...

  • @MyNokiaBlog so is there an option to adjust the numbers of the screens

  • ......that's actually a really good concept!

  • AWESOME idea
